A newLegend ofZeldamod has been posted on YouTube combining two classic games; The Legend of Zelda: Wind WakerandThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The video showcases Link traveling through Hyrule fromOcarina of Time, but with the visual aesthetics of the cel-shadedWind Waker.
There are plenty of remarkable modders and artists in the online community, particularly within Nintendo andZeldagame fandoms. Thanks to the magic of the IP and the nostalgia of the property, there are nearly endless opportunities. This particular mod combines two ofthe bestZeldagames of all time, and it does so in a rather impressive fashion.

YouTuber BigSharkZ recently uploaded a video recreatingThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeusingThe Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. It is quite magical to see the textures upgraded to such a degree. In fact, many fans are asking forZeldagames to be remastered in HD for the Switch, and this mod is a reminder in some ways as to what that could look like, regardless of the idea that it combines twoZeldagames into one.
The mod even takesideas directly fromThe Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, including things like crawling around army style, which is something that veterans of the GameCubeZeldatitle are familiar with. In fact, the animation, sound effects, and more are all plucked out ofWind Waker, while the world itself isThe Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Along with seeing Link running through Hyrule field or fighting off enemies, the mod also allows Malon from Lon Lon Ranch to be playable, which is certainly a big change from the original game. Depending on the mod, some are more silly and fun, and others are more based on performance enhancements. A recentOcarina of Timemod allowed the game to run in 4k and 60 fps, for example, which is quite different than a mod that allows Malon to be playable using aWind Waker-type model.
There is a near-constant craving for all thingsZeldawithin the gaming community. This wonderful and silly mod video has hit nearly a quarter of a million views since releasing only ten days ago as of this writing, which is quite remarkable. Whether it is a nostalgia forZeldagames of old or a yearning for the next title in the series, the fans ofZeldaare always looking for more.
