AZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer manages to trigger a blood moon after exploring a cave and detonating 20 Zonai time bombs together. The latestLegend of Zeldaadventure continues to build off of what its predecessor did well. Theopen world of Hyrule is again explorable, though with more than a few tweaks to show the slight advancement of time, but on top of that are the new sky islands as well as a massive and cavernous system below called the Depths.

Certain mechanics fromBreath of the Wildalso make their return including the controversial weapon durability system, which causes them to break after prolonged usage. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomalso brings back the Blood Moon mechanic, where after 7 days of in-game time, the world essentially resets by reviving most slain enemies. However, while the Blood Moon is on a set timer, players can trigger it to occur with one person in particular accidentally doing so while exploring a cave system.

On theZelda: Tears of the KingdomsubReddit, a user named NanoflameOP posted a short video where they’re exploring a cave and come up to one of the many breakable walls found throughout Hyrule, While players have a number of ways to break through them, NanoflameOP opts to take out a bunch of Zonai Time Bombs, setting off 20 of them at the same time. After setting off the first, the chain reaction sets off the pile set near the breakable wall which unfortunately doesn’t go the way the player expects.

After a slight framerate dip, the game immediately transitions into a Blood Moon, restoring all previously downed enemies. While a debate broke out in the comments as to why the user was doing what they were doing, some provided more context around Blood Moons and how to manually trigger them. Essentially,Blood Moons act as a panic button forTears of the Kingdomto help avoid running out of memory. The reset is made, so the game doesn’t crash with everything its keeping track of and players can impact this by doing things like fusing gems to a 5-shot Lynel bow and firing it at a breakable wall multiple times.

Creativity is a major part ofTears of the Kingdomthanks to new abilities like Ultrahand. With it, players can create all sorts of solutions to challenges like vehicles, machines, and anything else provided players have enough battery power and the correct Zonai devices on hand.
