Summary
A long-time fan ofThe Legend ofZeldahas shared a story they wrote when they were a child. Over the years, theZeldafranchise has built a dedicated fan base whose members show their love for Nintendo’s iconic series through creative means. Some fans spend most of their time creating artwork that captures the essence of their favorite games, including one instance that draws inspiration from the promo poster of 1988’sAkiramovie. The piece replaces Kaneda with Link and shows an upgraded version of hismotorcycle that resembles a popularTears of the KingdomUltrahand creation.
TheseZeldaartworks are a testament to fans' creativity and sport many details that may not be noticed at first glance. As an example, one talented artist designed a concept that imagineswhatTears of the Kingdom’s Link would look like as a samuraiin the game. The piece shows Link wielding a katana instead of the Legendary Master Sword and wearing a traditional costume like Japanese warriors. Another also shared a drawing that depicts the game’s “true” ending, where an adorable Korok comes out of Ganondorf’s chest.

On theZeldasubreddit, a user named Lizzie_Boredom shared a story they wrote when they were seven years old. The story is three pages long and opens with Zelda being kidnapped by a Moblin. The second page follows Link as he sets out to save the princess and asks Ganon where he brought her. Link doesn’t receive any information from Ganon and goes to Death Mountain located in the northern region of Hyrule. It concludes with Link rescuing Zelda from her enemies and putting an end to their evil plans.
This story appears to be similar to the events of2011’sThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, where Zelda is abducted by Grahim and taken to the underground to revive Ganon. ManyZeldafans in the comments have praised Lizzie_Boredom for creating such an adorable story, with some joking that the thought of Ganon calling someone a ‘‘nitwit’’ made them cackle. Over 5,000 people upvoted the Reddit post within three days of posting, and some of them claimed that this was one of the most enjoyable fan fiction they’ve ever read.
EveryZeldagame in the serieshas some plot twists that change what players know about the story and characters. They leave fans with a lot of questions and make them wonder what might happen in the next game. There are also some gaps that disrupt narratives, such as the question of what happened to the Triforce inTears of the Kingdom. It’s hard to imagine if these plot holes will be filled in futureZeldagames.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available on Switch.
