WWE 2K22came out last week, and many consider it to be a big step in the right direction. While it’s not perfect,WWE 2K22 received praise for its revamped combat system, an insane amount of content, and for offering a relatively bug-free experience.WWE 2K22is turning out to be a great baseline for the future of the franchise.
Like the rest of the series,WWE 2K22offers an extensive creation suitethat allows players to fully create superstars, arenas, movesets, entrances, and more. Users can then upload these creations for others to download. While many players choose to base them on other wrestlers, it’s possible to find all sorts of creations, from comic book heroes to real-life people, in that menu. Fans have already created some impressive arenas in the game, and it looks like some users are making faithful recreations of arenas from WWE’s biggest competitor.

On Twitter, Jena_Sting shared images of various AEW arenas created inWWE 2K22. Fans can download these creations by searching for “AEW, JENA,” letting them play matches in arenas based on AEW shows like Dynamite, Rampage, All Out, and Full Gear. Jena has also shared images of these arenas from various angles, and all of them look just as impressive as the ones created by the developers. Fans can even use these arenas inWWE 2K22’s universe mode and create a full show designed around AEW superstars.
WWE 2K22’sroster already includes some AEW superstars, such as Kyle O’Reilly and Keith Lee. Fans can also download some of the biggest AEW stars, like Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson, from the creation center. In total, there are 168 playable superstars inWWE 2K22, with more to come as DLC in the next few months. 2K Sports has released a full list of DLC superstars which includes Cactus Jack, Stacy Keibler, Ronda Rousey, Rob Van Dam, and many more.
AEW is also working on an untitled console game, which is being developed by Yuke’s, the former creators of the WWE games. Yuke’s relationship with 2K soured over the years, and this conflict was perhaps the biggest reason forWWE 2K20’s buggy state on launch. Thebudget of the AEW game may be lower thanWWE 2K22, so fans should not expect it to have a similar level of graphics and presentation. There is no release window for this unnamed title, but players can download fan-made superstars and arenas inWWE 2K22while they wait for the official AEW game.
WWE 2K22is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
