Summary

Nintendois often regarded as the Disney of video games. If that’s the case then why did it take so long for the company to start producing theme parks like Super Nintendo World? It seemed like an obvious business move but at least they are in the game now as both the U.S. and Japanese versions are doing well.

It’s great to be able to visit iconic lands and areas fromclassicMariogamesin real life. But, what if fans could truly get warped to a Nintendo world of their choice? There are some fun possibilities but then there are a lot of bad ones. Let’s go through the more horrifying options.

Fighting a battle in Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp

Some may not know this after playing the remakeAdvance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp, but the world in this series is called Wars World. Who would want to live in a universe where “war” is part of their planet’s name? Now, the violence depicted in these games is cartoony and no one ever suffers a bloody death.

However, that could be constructed propaganda. That’s what the politicians and media of this universe want players to see. Behind the scenes could be a whole other story. The one plus side to living in this universe would be the fashion as it is spot on, as are the vibrant colors.

Playing a level in Super Mario World 2 Yoshi’s Island

TheMariogames are filled with worlds and lands that look fun to live in.Super Mario RPG’s version, for example, looks like a good time. Of the many cool places, there is one place that seems like it would be a headache though, such as Yoshi’s Island. There are two scenarios wherein this would prove to be a rough situation.

InSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, characters, besides the various Yoshi, are babies. Does that mean players would become babies if they were transported into this world? On the other side, players could become Yoshi instead but that still wouldn’t be ideal. They would be tasked with caring for babies all day and the cries would drive anyone mad.

Exploring the world in Pokemon Red

Everyone thinks that they want to live in the Pokemon world, which has no official name. It’s probably best to think of it as a bizarre version of Earth from an alternate dimension. It sounds fun to live in a world like Kanto, which is the area in the first entries ofPokemon RedandPokemon Blue. It’s filled with cute monsters that players can catch and befriend.

There are benefits to Pokemon powers too. Imagine owning a Pikachu and being able to charge one’s phone in an instant or fly on the back of a Furrow to travel great distances. That sounds great, but likeAdvance Wars, there is a darker side to the games. Realistically, it would be terrifying to live with unpredictable monsters that could gut or vaporize players in an instant.

Fighting enemies in Splatoon

The world inSplatoonis also not spelled out like Pokemon’s. There are theories that the series takes place in a post-apocalypse version of Earth. The Inklings in this series are either mutated squids that became sentient humanoids or are humans that mutated into squid beings. Either way, the scenario sounds horrifying despite the admittedly cool powers of shooting colorful ink and swimming in it.

However, beyond fashionable places like Inkopolis, there are vast deserts of nothingness asshown briefly in the intro toSplatoon 3. Just how much of the world has been destroyed? It would be interesting if Nintendo would make a non-multiplayer-focused entry. If there are bigger hubs to live in then maybe players could be tempted to visit.

Promo art featuring characters in Xenoblade Chronicles X

Xenoblade Chronicles Xfeels like a forgotten entry in the series that remains trapped on the Wii U. While it features some returning mechanics, it’s not part of the core universe that was being built in the other entries. This one finds humanity traveling to a new planet, Mira, and establishing a colony to live on it.

Players are tasked with exploring this vast land as a recruit. It’s filled with giant monsters that all want to kill them. However, not many showcase the immense size of monsters in real time. While it would be fun to own a mech and fly around in it, they are a luxury that most probably won’t know. So, the bottom line is this. Mira is devoid of anything to do besides be terrified of monsters. Given time, it could be as ideal to live on as Earth, but it’ll take hundreds if not thousands of years to terraform it.

Promo art featuring characters in The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Maskis one of the most haunting iterations in the series. It seems like a dream, but not a pleasant one like in the events ofThe Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Termina is basically purgatory for this universewherein the citizens are stuck in a time loop.

The moon is going to crash into the world and destroy everything and only Link can save the day. Even when he does, players don’t know after the credits if things truly did change. Could the loop have started over again? It’s a fun game to make theories about but it wouldn’t be a fun world to live in.
