Zereth Mortis was thefinal zone added toWorld of WarcraftduringShadowlands. The otherworldly area is one of the workshops of the First Ones, and is unlike anything else inWorld of Warcrafthistory. ThoughShadowlandsreceived plenty of criticism from fans, few can deny that the cosmetics, aesthetics, and creatures of Zereth Mortis were striking and unique.
However, it seemsWorld of Warcraftplayers missed one of these collectible toys during Shadowlands' original run. Just recently, theWorld of WarcraftSecret Finding fan Discord server uncovered the Enlightened Hearthstone, hidden behind a group puzzle. To get this new cosmetic Hearthstone, six players must use the Sphere of Enlightened Cogitation toy while standing on each of the six pillar-like platforms beneath the Forge of the Afterlives in the center of Zereth Mortis. Once they do, a portal will appear that allows anyone who interacts with it to get this item.According to Wowhead,World of Warcraftfans Fail, Hiddenfur, Bad, Exedra, Mumorte, and Arruu were the secret finders responsible for solving this two-year-old puzzle.
It is no surprise it took so long to find this particular secret. The Sphere of Enlightened Cogitation has about a 13% drop rate from the Emissary quest rewards granted by theEnlightened BrokerWoWfactionvia the World Quest system. Between the rare drop rate and specific unlock requirements, it is more shocking they discovered it at all.
This isn’t the only secretWoWfans have discovered recently. Last month, players found Godfrey’s glasses during the Reclaiming Gilneas quest from Patch 10.2.5, and before that,Demon Hunters found a new warglaive transmog via aWorld of WarcraftNPCin the Emerald Dream.
