Summary
AWorld of Warcraftfan recently shared a concept for an expansion to the Deeprun Tram, as well as the creation of a Grimrail train for the Horde in Kalimdor. This awesome concept would expand on an iconic form of fast travel inWorld of Warcraftwhile adding a brand new one to the game.
Fans who have playedWorld of Warcraftsince it was first released 19 years agohave probably ridden the Deeprun Tram at least once. This convenient form of fast travel connects Stormwind and Ironforge, and is one of the fastest and safest ways Alliance players can traverse the Eastern Kingdoms before they unlock flying.

Reddit user andWorld of Warcraftfan Groslem recently shared a clever concept that would take the Deeprun Tram and expand it even further. Using an overhead map of the Eastern Kingdoms, they brought up the idea of adding additional lines and stops to the Deeprun Tram that would have it connect all the way up to the Hinterlands. What’s more, they also made a concept for a Horde version, conceptualized as an Azeroth version of theGrimrail featured in theWarlords of Draenordungeon.

Many fans were on board with Groslem’s fast travel revamp idea. Doing so would not only provide convenience for low-level players, but also some amazing worldbuilding, especially givenWorld of Warcraft’s underutilizedDragonflighttime skip. Others brought up logistical and in-game political problems, and compared the idea to real-life struggles the United States has faced with the construction of its own train systems.
Unfortunately,World of Warcraftprobably won’t introduce such a drastic change to the Deeprun Tram in the game. Doing so would require aCataclysm-level world revamp, which, in light ofWorld of Warcraft’s piecemeal facelifts during the Worldsoul Saga, seems unlikely. Additionally, Dynamic Flying coming to the old world will make the Deeprun Tram even more obsolete than it already is. Even so, fans can always dream of a world where Groslem’s expanded fast travel system would be implemented, and how it would change the game.
