Summary
Despitebeing an open-world gameentirely based around the idea of Wizards…with Guns, the game calledWizard with a Gundoesn’t actually have all that many to choose from.
As it turns out,Wizard with a Gunis much more varied in the ammunition, powders, and general research advancements players make than it is with the guns they choose to wield. However, from the options they do have, here’s how they stack up against each other.

5Weapon Tiers & Differences
Why Refined Weapons Are So Much Better Than Shabby Ones
First off, before ranking any of the guns in this game on all platforms (except the Switch version, since that version is still in the works), players should know what exactly separates a Shabby Carbine from a Refined Carbine and so on. Essentially, Guns inWizard with a Gunhave 4 different ‘rarities’, starting from the Shabby variant that’s available in the Imperium. From there, players will steadilyunlock a new variant to craftin each new Biome as they scan the Cult of Lead enemies in each new zone.

5 Desiccated Wood & 10 Steel Scrap
As for the differences between the different rarities of Guns, there are a few key differences. Essentially, with each new variant of a Gun type, players will find thatthe higher rarity Gunhas a larger clip, a faster reload, a bit more range, more Powder slots, and a new visual appearance. This is exactly why these rankings aren’t ranking the Shabby Revolver against the Trusty Revolver because the Trusty variant is literally better than the Shabby variant in every single way.

Right at the bottom of the rankings, and understandably so, is the Revolver. From the most basic version of this gun (the Wooden Gun) to the most advanced version (the Refined Revolver) all variants of the Revolver are very basic in both their damage and utility.
They have a moderate fire rate, the default 1x damage modifier, and can hold a pretty substantial amount of ammo (300 to be exact). While the Revolver is probably the most ‘reliable’ gunin this survival gamein terms of consistency, it doesn’t excel in anything.

Next up is the Carbine, and depending on the player the choice to put this near the bottom might not make any sense at all. The Carbine is the ‘rifle’ of the game, trading fire rate for high damage per shot and high accuracy.
When using the right bullets, such as Force or Lightning Strike Bullets, the Carbine is incredible. But, overall, the Carbine is a bit too niche in its use to be ranked any higher, at least compared to the other guns.

Next up is the Wanderbuss, which isn’t the game’s ‘shotgun’, but is more accurately a twist on an old-fashioned Blunderbuss. Essentially, this gun is the exact opposite of the Carbine, giving up high accuracy and high damage per shot so that it can fire 5 bullets at once in a widespread. The reason this gun is ranked so highly, however, is actually mostly due to the fact it fires multiple bullets at once.Wizard with a Gun’sBullets have varying unique effects, depending on the ammunition used.
And, while no Bullet is all that much better than the others, some of them absolutely scale exponentially as more of them are fired at the same time. Shocking and Order Bullets, in particular, can absolutely melt through both enemies and structures when used in a Wanderbuss with the right Powders. Oddly enough, this makes the Wanderbussthe most ‘cozy’ optionin the game, as it feels the best to shoot on average.

And in first place, it’sWizard with a Gun’sversion of an SMG, the Machine Wand. Honestly, the Machine Wand isn’t all that much better than the Wanderbuss, they’re actually pretty comparable. But, where the Machine Wand jumps ahead is in versatility.
While the Wanderbuss is pretty good with most ammo types and especially good with a few specific Bullets, the Machine Wand is great with all ammo types and is especially amazing with a handful of different Bullets. This gun is by far the best option for any Bullets that apply ‘stacks’ such as the Poison or Fire Bullets, it works great as a Support gun when filled with Order and Healing Bullets, and even with standard ammunition the Machine Wand’s DPS is no joke.
