Summary

PLEASE NOTE: This article contains spoilers for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Proceed at your own risk. The Empire has taken a lot from Cal Kestis’ companions in theStar Wars Jedigames, to the point where Cal repeatedly faces the dilemma of going into hiding, as many Jedi have done during the purge. Another factor that attempts to persuade Cal to abandon his role in battling with the Empire is the new and longtime members of his found family inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. Specifically, Greez is very upfront about his advice for Cal, going as far as dedicating a spare room as a bedroom for Cal at the Pyloon’s Saloon he owns.

With the Empire and its agents relentlessly forcing Cal’s ongoing involvement in the fight, Cal never has the luxury to consider leaving the fight a justified course of action. This seemingly changes duringthe ending ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. With an additional member joining the family and Cal’s reflection on the loss he has suffered this far to consider, it might finally be time for Cal to settle down away from the war. However, where this series takes place in the franchise’s timeline would suggest that Cal will ultimately continue to fight the next time fans see him.

Where the Star Wars Jedi Games Fall on the Star Wars Timeline

Either in the nextStar Wars Jedigame or in the other upcomingStar Warsprojects, fans will likely see more of the likes of Cal Kestis. At the moment, there are a few recent and ongoing shows that also take place during this period in the franchise’s timeline, which is part of why fans are holding onto hope fora Cal Kestis cameo, or at least what makes it a reasonable ambition for the time being. Specifically, the events ofAndorare happening around this same time, so the upcoming season two could be the perfect opportunity to bring Cal into the picture.

Why Cal Kestis May Continue to Fight

Moving on from where the existingStar Wars Jediseries games take place, a third entry in the series is on pace to fit in right at the heart of the Rebellion era oftheStar Warsfranchise timeline. Cal has faced many tough decisions throughout his journey in the series, and one of the most tempting arguments inStar Wars Jedi: Survivoris for Cal to put his fighting days behind him. If there was any reason for Cal to continue the good fight, the Rebellion is a strong contender. Not to mention, the Rebellion era continues to be one of the best settings forStar Warsvideo games, with plenty of fan favorites existing during this period.

The nextStar Wars Jediproject could also very well be a book, especially considering the history of this particularStar Warsseries. Theevents between theStar Wars Jedigamestook on the form of a book,Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars, so this may indicate the future of where the series is heading. Although no matter which medium the next project in the series takes on, Cal is expected to once again continue to fight the good fight given where it would fit in the overall franchise’s timeline.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions in development.
