tim booth as Victor Zsasz

6Victor Zsasz

Batman Begins (2005)

Christopher Nolan’sDark Knight Trilogymay have shied away from many Batman elements apart from the core aspects of the character, butBatman Beginsallowed itself toembrace some more comic book elements, such as Victor Zsasz, the notorious serial killer who would carve a mark into his flesh for every kill he managed to achieve.

Victor Zsasz was seen in Arkham Asylum, making a brief but notable appearance thanks to the fact that he has many scars on his skin like tally marks. Zsasz makes for a weird cameo, considering he is not seen or referenced beyondBatman Begins.

topo the octopus

5Topo The Octopus

Aquaman (2018)

Another fun cameo to be seen within the DC Universe comes fromAquaman, a film that embraces all manners of oddities and weirdness from Aquaman’s decades in comics. Whilst most ridiculed Aquaman for being a ridiculous character, and he has been parodied for decades, it wasn’t until Jason Momoa brought some serious metal to the live-action role that people saw Aquaman as a serious character to be respected.

Despite thenew respect for his name,Aquamanwasn’t afraid to get a tad weird, in part due to the famed drummer octopus known as Topo. Topo is an interesting and goofy sidekick to Aquaman and one that many hope to see inAquaman 2, as long as he provides some great beats.

the dark knight opening scene spider-man easter egg

4Spider-Man 3 Crossover

The Dark Knight (2008)

Whilst this easter egg may be unintentional it’s still fun to see, and one that is hard to forget on each watch ofThe Dark Knight. At the start of the film, Heath Ledger’s Joker waits to be picked up in a vehicle to begin the famed heist scene. However, if players look to the left of the frame, they will be able to spot a blurred posterfeaturing a certain Web-Head.

Audiences might notice this poster to be that ofSpider-Man 3, featuring the conclusion of Sam Raimi’sSpider-Mantrilogy with Tobey Maguire. This poster features Peter Parker wearing the Symbiote Black Suit, and is very easy to miss, and a weird one to keep involved, especially in a DC movie.

barry allen running in the Chronobowl

3The Multiverse

The Flash (2023)

The Multiverse plays an important role inThe Flash. Whether it’s cameo galore or the actual way that the Multiverse works. Whereas the MCU shows the Multiverse as a timeline, a straight line with multiple branches, the DCEU showed the Multiverse more in fashion with DC Comics, as the Multiverse were spheres, showcasing different realities.

The Flash uses the Chronobowl to traverse through not only time but through the Multiverse. The Chronobowl features pictures and memories of the universe, like a lens to look through, and it’s a weird and interestingeaster egg to see inThe Flash, considering it harbors such comic book influence.

green lantern in blue beetle

2Hit By A Green Lantern

Blue Beetle (2023)

The opening credits toBlue Beetleis an interesting one, as it showcases the cosmic voyage of the scarab as it finds its way to Earth. However, it seems that the scarab was not destined to head for Earth, as it was thrown off course thanks to a green beam of light among the stars. This green beam of light was suspiciously colored likethat of a Green Lantern, and the director has even confirmed it as such.

As the scarab ventures through space, it collides with a Green Lantern. Whilst this Lantern’s identity is unknown, it is vitally interesting to the DC Universe, and considering Blue Beetle will return in James Gunn’s DCU, perhaps it will one day be revealed as to what Lantern this was. Although, it may be unlikely, considering it was centuries before Jaime got the scarab.

batman scene from watchmen

1Saving The Waynes

Watchmen (2009)

During the introduction of Zack Snyder’sWatchmenmovie, keen-eyed fans, and Batman die-hards, might be able to spot what’s happening in a certain scene. When the first Nite Owl punches a crook with a gun, a man and a woman stand injured in the background. These two characters are Thomas and Martha Wayne, and it’s noted as such due to the fact that they are outside the Gotham Opera House.

Even better, a brick wall on the right is painted with Batman comic covers featuring the brand-new adventures of Batman and Robin, showcasing that perhaps in a different world, in a different timeline,Batman would have been bornon the streets of Gotham City. This weird easter egg showcases the potential timelines of the DC Universe.
