Valheimplayers are dropped into a seemingly untamable world when they start. Fortunately, there are plenty of game features to make a playthrough much more manageable. Two of these crucial elements thatValheimplayers should master to make their journey easier are the taming of animals and farming of crops. Recently, one player showed off their impressive mastery of both of these elements through an impressive clip on their farm.

Valheimwas released in early access in February 2021, taking players to a mythical Viking world split into a variety of biomes. As part ofValheim’s survival mechanic, players need to keep their character fed and one of the easiest ways to do this is totame animals like boarsand farm crops they find seeds for while they explore.

This short clip comes from u/PortianCitizen087, and it shows a complete mastery ofthe domestic portion ofValheim. They open their clip with an already impressive farming set up with 6 long rows of planted carrots. These crops can be used in a variety of different meals to further boost a player’s health pool. From this farm, u/PortianCitizen087 hops over a wooden wall and into their boar pen. There are about a dozen of these tamed creatures in this small portion of this player’s base but, interestingly, these animals are walking on ground that has been cultivated. U/PortianCitizen087 then proceeds to pull up the carrots that have been growing in this pen, leaving them on the ground, so the boars can be fed, keeping them healthy and tamed.

Forthose who haven’t playedValheim, this clip may seem unexciting but, those who are familiar with the game will note the subtle genius of this clip. Firstly, u/PortianCitizen087 made their life much easier by growing the food boar’s eat in their own pen. Secondly, they have turned off the auto pickup option in the game, meaning that all they need to do is pickup the crops that are ready to feed their tamed animals. Usually this process requires much more inventory management than is needed here.

When it comes tosurviving inValheim, it may seem daunting at first, but once players are able to create a cultivator, this becomes much easier. While the game allows players the chance to be quite nomadic when it comes to gathering food and supplies, it equally benefits players to invest in a base and a farm.

Then again, those who heavily invest in their own base will find little need to go out on hunts or explore areas for food supplies. Either way, u/PortianCitizen087 handles the challenges ofValheimwith ease in this clip.
