Since being added to the game in 2022, players have been exploring The Mistlands to acquire Yggdrasil Wood, Black Marble, and Royal Jelly. There are currently six fully realized biomes, with two more coming in the future. Despite the variety, some players continue to choose to build in the biome that they start in, the Meadows. One player has decided to create a massive cathedral as their Meadows base, and it includes a whopping number of resources.

Reddit user Eicr-5 recently shared 13 images of theirValheimcathedral build, highlighting every angle from the inside and out. Two towers are placed next to the main entrance which has intricately designed windows above its doors. The windows on either side of the cathedral have either a diamond or circular-shaped pattern made of wood, and a central window resembles the ones above the entrance. The tallest point of the cathedral is 80 meters high, and the ceiling reaches 38 meters. The building is based on the Reims Cathedral in France, and it’s primarily composed ofValheimBlack Marble, Darkwood, Iron, and Wood.

How Was This Cathedral Created?

According to Eicr-5, the cathedral has been built inValheimCreative mode, and debug was activated using console commands to simplify the experience. Hammer mode permitted this gamer to make the cathedral without its massive material requirements, while debug likely made piecing it together less of a hassle. The Reddit user chose the Meadows biome for their impressive cathedral because it required less terraforming and minimal defenses for raids. Small pieces have been used in select parts of the cathedral for the walls and beams to snap together properly. The cathedral averages around 60,000 instances, which highlights just how massive it is. The gamer doesn’t consider their cathedral much of a base as it lacks storage, and the ceiling is too high for the game to recognize it as shelter.

Given that Eicr-5 shared their work in progress before the finished product, players can easily track how the cathedral was made. The Reddit user has also shared a Dropbox file of the world, allowing fans to see it in greater detail. AsIron Gate Studios continues to updateValheim, it may become easier to share builds like this with other players in the future.
