Square-Enix’s studios have been busy. Right on the heels of an announcement foran HD remake ofLive-A-Liveat the latest Nintendo Direct, Artdink is finally releasing the long-awaitedTriangle Strategy.

Helmed by the same producer asOctopath Traveler, Tomoya Asano,Triangle Strategyis an homage tothe classicFinal Fantasy Tacticstitles. The player takes on the role of Serenoa Wolffort, son of a legendary warrior, and they must navigate both battles and political intrigue as they’re thrust into a conflict between three nations.

Triangle Strategyis debuting ina month already packed in new releases, and it’s yet to be seen how it fares against major releases likeGran Turismo 7orStranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.Still, tactics RPG fans are an underserved audience, and there’s bound to be players gnawing at the bit to play this game as soon as possible.

Triangle Strategy Release Times

The release time forTriangle Strategydepends on which region the player is in. The North American, European, and Australian Nintendo eShops all update at different times:

There is a possibility for a slight delay.Triangle Strategyis a third-party published title, and according toNintendo’s own support page, “Some third-party titles are not available until 12:00 PM PST on the game’s release date,” which is three hours after the eShop’s usual update time. The impatient should be aware of a possible delay.

Interested players don’t have to wait until the official release time to get started. They can get their campaign started right now if they want to, all without paying a cent. All they need is some free download space on their switch.

Square Enix released a lengthy demo forTriangle Strategy. Not only does it cover the first three chapters of the game, but any saved data generated while playing the demo is transferable to the full release version, meaning no lost progress or repeating the tutorial.

Square Enix put outa similar demo scheme forDragon Quest 11 S, allowing players to start their long journey for free. Hopefully, this becomes the universal standard for Square Enix’s future RPG releases.
