Summary
Titanfall 2has released a new game mode almost seven years after its launch, which can be seen as surprising, as the title didn’t receive any significant updates for a long time, except for fixing bugs.Titanfall 2is one of thebest first-person shootersout there, with excellent gunplay and traversal mechanics, and the new game mode is exciting news for fans of the franchise who were previously feeling abandoned by Respawn Entertainment.
The originalTitanfallcame out in 2014 and was a console exclusive for Xbox. The game, which was multiplayer-only, didn’t fare very well with critics, but this didn’t stop Respawn from releasingTitanfall 2two years later. The new game had a pretty good single-player campaign and a multiplatform release and was hailed as a huge improvement over its predecessor. However,Titanfall 2was a good game that came out at the wrong timeand lost the spotlight to games likeBattlefield 1andCall of Duty: Infinite Warfare, preventing it from being as successful as it could have been.

Delivering updates like this one so many years after a game’s release is quite curious, so many fans are already wondering if this could mean that the franchise is coming back. A few days ago, some fans devised atheory thatTitanfall 3may be coming out eventuallyafter seeing a cryptic message inApex Legends, which used some numbers that referenced the release dates of previous games in the franchise.
However, gamers should not get their hopes up just yet, asTitanfall 3was canceledafter almost a year of development. According to the developers, several issues related to multiplayer, as well as a dwindling player base, led the project to be abandoned a few years ago. So, it’s far from guaranteed that the studio will try to develop a sequel again. In any case, gamers should wait for an official announcement ofTitanfall 3before getting too hyped about the possibility.
Titanfall 2is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
