LEGO Fortniteoffers players several biomesto explore, from the hot and dry desert to the snowy and cold frostland. All these biomes have various resources and items for players to collect and use to upgrade their village, tools, and equipment. While some of these resources are in the open, some are hidden in caves.
Unfortunately, exploring caves is not as simple as many players assume. It’s easy to get lost or stuck, and players may encounter dangerous and ruthless wild creatures ready to attack and kill. However, exploring caves is crucial to acquiring valuable resources like Knotroot, making it important to know the best survival tips.

1Upgrade Weapons and Gear
High-Rarity Weapons And Gear To Quickly Fight Off Enemies
Before venturing into a cave, players mustequip high-rarity weaponsand gear to fight off wild animals like Wolves and spiders. The uncommon Pickaxe or Forest Axe isn’t strong enough to kill these powerful enemies as they break easily.
Players need high-rarity weapons like the Epic Longsword andthe Epic Recurve Crossbow. The Shortsword is also a great choice due to its durability and high damage deal. Alongside the weapons, players should bring the right gear to navigate the deep and dark caves. This includes a Torch to light the way and a Shield to protect them from attacks.

2Bring Enough Raw and Prepared Foods
Foods Boost Health and Increase Stamina
Caves inLEGO Fortnitedon’t have food for players to collect and add to their inventory. So, if a player needs to heal after an encounter with enemies, they’re likely to die if they didn’t bring enough food. Gather as much Raw and Prepared food as possible before entering a cave. A good strategy is to bring one food that increases the hunger bar quickly, such as Pumpkin, and another that delivers fast healing, like Snowberry.
Players should also bring and eat Prepared Foods to increase their stamina and health. Eating cooked foods like Grilled Meat and Fried Eggs can add up to 5 hearts to the health bar, which is crucial when navigating caves.

3Bring a Villager
A Villager Can Attack Enemies for Players
Players who bring villagers on exploration quests have more odds of surviving caves than those who don’t. Villagers can quickly take down foes trying to attack as the player gathers resources. Using Villagers as a punching back minimizes unnecessary encounters with wolves and Brutes, ensuring players survive longer.
To recruit a Villagerand take them along, simply approach them and press the interact button to speak with them. Players can assign villagers jobs, ask them to tag along, and even give them weapons to use against foes.

4Evade Unnecessary Enemy Encounters
Only Attack When Necessary To Ensure Survival
Players don’t have to engage in every enemy encounter while exploring caves. While charging at wolves and spiders may be exhilarating, it’s wise to avoid combat when possible. Instead, let the villager take down the foe or simply run around and dodge the attacks to get away from the enemies.
It only makes sense to charge at an enemy if a player needs a particular resource that can only be acquired by defeating them. For example,to obtain Sand Claws, players must defeat Sand Wolves. Otherwise, let the villager handle any trouble that arises.

5Follow the Left-Hand Rule
MostLEGO Fortniteplayers get lost in caves and can’t find their way out. Some even opt to die to respawn back to their assigned beds in the Village. While this isn’t a bad strategy, it’s a guaranteed way to lose all the valuable resources gathered in the player’s backpack and is ultimately only a last-resort strategy.
To avoid getting stuck in caves, stick to the wall on the left to find a way out. This means each time a player gets to a junction, they should take the left turn instead of the right. Similarly, follow any opening on the left wall as it increases the player’s chances of getting out. Alternatively, try as much as possible to keep track of bearings, taking note of the turns taken.

6Craft And Assign A Bed
Beds Are A Player’s Respawn Point If They Die
If players die in a cave, they’re respawned to their assigned beds. If this is back at the Village Square, it can be annoying as the player loses their backpack and the ground they covered to get to the cave.
To avoid this, craft and sleep in a bedin the cave to make it the respawn point. This way, if a player perishes while exploring a cave, they can pick up from where they left off. A great tip is to place the bed at the cave entrance before venturing in.
