Video game enthusiasts don’t have to go far to find all sorts of game rumors and “leaks” online. It seems new rumors pop up each day, some of which stem from credible sources, and others that are more likely fake than not. Video game rumors tend to heat up around this time of year due to E3, but even withE3 2020 canceled, the rumors have not slowed down.

Reddit user UtopianThrowaway90 has created a list of games that are rumored to be announced this year. This includesSpider-Man 2for the PlayStation 5, a newAssassin’s Creedgame from Ubisoft,Resident Evil 8, and more.

Some of the game announcements on the list seem much more likely than others. For example, since WB Games Montreal itself has been teasing a newBatmangame announcement, it wouldn’t be more surprising if a newBatmangamewasn’tannounced this year. Likewise, we have already seen footage of theHarry PotterRPG, and since that was apparently going to be announced during Warner Bros. Interactive’s E3 2020 press conference that was canceled, perhaps a proper reveal will be coming even sooner than expected.

Other games on the list seem like safe bets as well.Resident Evil 8has been leaked by credible sources, andFable 4has been rumoredto be in development for years now.Forza Motorsport 8also seems like a no-brainer, as Microsoft releases a newForzaracing game almost every year.

Some of the other games on the list seem a little less likely. There hasn’t been much said about a supposedStar WarsRogue Squadron-style game as listed in the post, and it seems unlikely thatNetherRealm Studioswould be working on a Marvel video game. After all, NetherRealm is owned by Warner Bros. Interactive, and so it would be strange for the studio to be working on a Marvel Comics project as opposed to DC.

If all of the games listed here are truly set to be announced this year, that at least gives fans an idea of when to expect the announcements. Anything on the list that’s not announced by the end of December was likely made up, or otherwise announcement plans changed. In any case, it will be interesting to see which of these rumored game announcements are legitimate and which ones are fake.
