The Simsfranchise has always been known for having additional DLC that adds to the base game experience. EachThe Simsiteration has had some form of DLC, whether it’s been expansion, stuff, or game packs. The Sims 4also recently added a new type of DLC called “kits,” but those function more likeThe Sims 3Store rather than full-blown DLC additions. Most DLC adds some form of new gameplay, whether it’s a world, hobby, or new Create-A-Style or Build/Buy mode items.

On Twitter recently, the SimGurus, particularly SimGuru Frost and SimGuru George, have been teasing an upcoming DLC forThe Sims 4. This isn’t shocking, as the game is more than likely due for a new DLC pack. However, this teaser doeshaveThe Simscommunity abuzzwith excitement for whatever the new content may be. While it’s still a mystery what the new DLC might revolve around, there are a few clues and highly requested themes that could potentially be the next DLC pack.

Community Requested Sims 4 Content

Having an outspoken community can be both a blessing and a curse, andThe Simscommunity can probably be classified as both. In some cases,The Simsfans call out important issues thatThe Sims 4is lacking, like inclusive skin tones or a lack of gender neutrality or Sim-specific pronoun selection. The community has also requested transparency from the developer, leading toThe SimsLaundry List—a compilation of the most reported in-game issues and how they’re being handled or fixed.

With howThe Sims 4developer has reacted to fan requests in the past, like better skin tone options and more transparency, it’s no surprise that the dev may make a long-requested pack a reality. Many fans have asked for a pack similar toThe Sims 3: Generations, which had content for all Sim age groups. A pack like that would be welcomed, especially because there’s so little for elders to do in-game. It would also be agreat opportunity forThe Sims 4to introduce child activities beyond the science or art table.

Another highly requested pack has been something revolving around farming. There’s already a gardening skill in-game, which only became more robust withThe Sims 4: Seasons, but there’s more to farming than that. It could be an opportunity to add farm animals like cows or chickens, both of which were available fromThe Sims 3Store in some capacity. Other pack ideas could take a more supernatural route like fairies or werewolves, similar to theVampiresorRealm of Magicgame packs.

What The SimGurus Hinted At

The SimGuru Twitters are often known for teasing new content before it’s officially revealed. SimGuru Frost is the global community manager forThe Sims 4and seems to have fun teasing the community with unreleased information. SimGuru George took to Twitter to pose a question for fans, asking them to choose oneThe Simsworld to play in for the entire weekend. SimGuru Frost took this moment to tease the community, stating he’d choose a [REDACTED] world—a similar move to when the developer teased therelease ofThe Sims 4: Snowy Escape.

SimGuru George didn’t hesitate to add to the debacle, saying that players can only reach said world when “playing with [REDACTED] sims and the new [REDACTED].” A statement like this could indicate a new type of Sim, meaning a supernatural pack may be up next. However, this would be a little odd for the developer sinceThe Sims 4: Paranormalonly released in January. There was also the mention of a new world, which has been known to be included in either game or expansion packs.

Regardless of what the cryptic teasing may indicate, there area few thingsThe Sims 4fanscan expect. First, the game is due for a new DLC, primarily a game or expansion pack. Second, the SimGurus love to tease, but it probably won’t be long until more concrete hints about the upcoming pack are revealed.

The Sims 4is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
