Summary
Fairy Tailhas a very colorful cast of characters that haveentertained fans for years. Mages with different sorts of powers are on display in every episode. That said, like with most pieces of fiction that involve magic, the core elementals are always present: fire, water/ice, wind, electricity, and the like.
Fairy Tailhas a fair fewfire usersof varying degrees of skill, and these mages are worth discussing. It should be noted, that this discussion will exclude dragons that have no humanoid form, like Atlas Flame, or characters that haven’t used their fire in combat, like Jellal and Makarov.
9Totomaru
He Can Control All Sorts Of Flames
Totomaru is a former member ofthe Phantom Lord Guild, and he was one of the Element 4. His corresponding element is fire, and he is able to manipulate this element to his will and can make use of all sorts of flames.
He was able to initially inflict damage on Natsu by forcing his flames to hit him. He could also unleash foul flames to overwhelm Natsu’s excellent sense of smell. His power was impressive, and after the Phantom Lord arc, he became a teacher of fire magic, even teaching Romeo Conbolt.
8Wed
The Strongest Swordsman In Guiltina
Wed is one of those characters who has yet to make an appearance in theFairy Tailanime and one that fans hope to see in the future. He is a dark mage from Guiltina and is able to use both flame and sword magic.
He gave Erza significant problems when the two faced off. He was able toengulf his sword in flameslike Yamamoto fromBleachand initially broke Erza’s. When Wed used his “Flame-Killing Overlord Sword,” it was able to shatter Erza’s Armadura Armor, further showcasing just how powerful of a fire user he is.
7Erza Scarlet
A Mage With Many Talents
Erza is one of thestrongest mages in all ofFairy Tail. What makes her so strong is her mastery of several forms of magic and the ability she has to wield different weapons. Erza’s primary magic is not fire, but when she dons the Flame Empress armor, she is able to manipulate the element.
One of the more impressive features of her armor is also that it makes her flame resistant, which is really handy in battle, especially for someone who is able to use fire.
6Mirajane Strauss
Can Take The Form Of A Demon To Use Fire Magic
Mirajane is another magewho, through the capabilities of her magic, can wield a variety of elements. In Mira’s case, her takeover magic, Satan Soul, is very powerful and allows her to take the form of various demons.
One of the most powerful is Satan Soul: Sitri, in which she takes on the form of a powerful demon and can use fire magic in that state. She emits a lot of fire from her feet, which makes her even more dangerous in hand-to-hand combat, as she can inflict further damage thanks to the flames.
5Zancrow
The Black Flame God
Zancrow was a dark mage from Grimoire Heart and was raised by master Hades. He is a God Slayer who considers himself superior to all dragon slayers, but he was eventually taken out by Zeref.
His strength was impressive, as he was a mage whose flames could not be eaten by Natsu initially, and the latter had to expel all his fire to take in Zancrow’s. His black flames are incredible, and he was only defeated when his own flames were used on him, further highlighting how powerful of a fire user he was.
4God Serena
Can Control Eight Different Types Of Dragon Slayer Magic
God Serena is one of the Spriggan 12 and one of the most powerful foes that Fairy Tail ever came up against. He was able to make short work of a group of wizarding saints with little trouble.
He died at the hands of Acnologia, but some sort of copy of him was brought back in the battle against Magnolia. He has the ability to control8 different dragon slayer magics, including fire, which he can combine with other things to make it much harder to counteract. On top of that, his fire can’t be consumed by the likes of Natsu.

The Overpowered Wizard King
August is a member of the Spriggan 12 and is considered perhaps the strongest one. He is able to use different kinds of magic, most notably his copy magic, which enables him to use any magic as long as he comes in contact with it.
One of the magics he can wield due to this power is fire magic, which he uses at a prodigious level. He is able to almost overpower Natsu with it and, in terms of overall combat,is almost unbeatable. The only person he seems to fear is Acnologia.

The Son Of Igneel Who Can Wield Fire At Will
Ignia is the Fire Dragon God and the biological son of Igneel, who was the king of dragons and Natsu’s adoptive father. Ignia is one of the five dragon gods that live in Guiltina.
He is immensely powerful, having access to the ability to wield fire at will. He is also said to have no smell, which means that he cannot easily be detected by dragon slayers. He can create great pillars of fire, and it is hinted that, while hecannot defeat Acnologia, he might not be completely blown away when attempting to do so. Also, he defeated Selene, the Moon Dragon God.

Natsu is the main protagonistof theFairy Tailseries, and it is only natural that he is considered thestrongest fire usersince he finds a way to defeat every foe. Natsu is able to manipulate fire and can use it to his advantage when facing off against enemies.
What makes Natsu so impressive as a fire mage is the fact that he is generally impervious to fire, which is a huge plus. Not only that, but he can also consume fire from other mages and use it to power up his abilities. As proven by his battle with Zancrow, he can even consume black flames and use them himself.
