Jump Forceexists to finally answer that age-old question of who would win in a fight betweenDragon Ball Z’s Goku andOne Piece’s Luffy.
While the arena fighting game did not receive the greatest of reviews,Bandai Namco’s epic crossover does have a decent combat system that largely rises above the questionable visuals or lackluster campaign. As a casual multiplayer fighting game,Jump Forceis acceptable, permitting other people are actually playing online.

Due to the game’s nature, a tier list is less set in stone than something likeSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate. More often than not, a player’s selection will mostly be determined by their anime preferences. While some characters have a noticeable disadvantage, like Sanji not being able to fight female characters, most are viable. Still, certainfighters inJump Forcewill always be better than others.
As a side note, assist moves will not be considered.
Updated on Jun 08, 2025, by Mark Sammut:Considering it had a prettyunderwhelming launch, Jump Force has enjoyed a surprisingly long shelf life. Most of that has to do with the sheer number of DLC packages that have been released for the game; even more than two years following Jump Force’s debut, new characters were still being added to the roster, with Giorno Giovanna joining the ranks in April 2021. While not pulling amazing numbers on Steam, Jump Force is still averaging afew hundred players at any given moment, which is far from bad for a game that will soon be celebrating its three-year anniversary. A few more of thebest fighters in Jump Forcehave been added to this article.
13Cell
For the most part,Jump Force’sDragon Ballcharacters are dependable but not out of this world amazing. From the seven fighters available in the game, Cell stands out as the peak option; one could say he represents the “perfect” accumulation of theDBZbrand inJump Force.
Cell is fast, has great reach, powerful attacks, and the “Perfect Flash” move that can manage the battlefield to an extent. The villain doesn’t have much in the way of notable weaknesses, making Cell a stellar option for most scenarios.

Cell’s Move List:
12Dio
Frankly, it would be sacrilege to not include our lord and savior in this article.JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders' antagonist takes some getting used to, but Dio’s moveset packs an incredible punch and offers a devastating Awakening Move called “The World”.
Dio is quite a slow character, particularly when it comes to his normal combos; conversely, the villain is an absolute powerhouse. Add the fact that combos can chain into specials like “Checkmate” and, in the right hands, Dio can be devastating.

11Asta
AsBlack Clover’s sole representative, Asta shoulders the full weight of representing his anime and manga. Luckily, the non-magic user serves as another example of swordsmen ranking amongJump Force’s most consistently deadly warriors.
Asta is designed with chained attacks in mind, while successfully hitting his Awakening Move, “Black Meteorite”, temporarily renders the opponent unable to use special abilities.

10Aizen
Bleach’s characters are generally treated pretty well byJump Force, with even those who failed to make this list being decent options. Aizen is somewhat of a mixed bag, as he is most effective against an opponent who is blissfully unaware of the villain’s moveset.

Aizen’s button-mashing combos are great, with the Soul Reaper flickering all over the place to confuse (or frustrate) other players. While Aizen’s abilities are quite powerful, “Black Coffin” has an extensive charge time that means it is near impossible to execute.

9Hisoka
Hisoka’s creepy behavior is not just a front, asHunter x Hunter’s fascinating antagonist is more than capable of backing up his unsettling remarks. InJump Force, Hisoka is one of the more strategic characters, with a moveset that requires precise timing and patience.
His counters are designed to catch those who run into battle without much thought and are particularly effective at breaking up combos or ability spammers. He is a punishing character but not necessarily overpowered.

8Shoto Todoroki
Released as DLC in 2020,My Hero Academia’s Shoto Todoroki is a powerhouse that has one of the most impressive and flexible movesets inJump Force. “Ice Stalagmite” stuns the enemy, “Heaven-Piercing Ice Wall” sends out a trial of ice and has excellent reach, and “Dancing Flame” shoots out a classic beam of fire akin to the “Kamehameha;” combined, these moves make Todoroki a threat from up close or far away.
Todoroki is one ofJump Force’s most accessible characters, a fighter that doesn’t seem too overpowered but can dominate battles with ease.

7Naruto
Boruto almost made the cut, but the original is just slightly better. Overall,Naruto’s characters are average inJump Force, with the titular characterand Kaguya being the exceptions. While the latter is a contender for the worst fighter in the game, the former is fast, deadly, and has a visually impressive and powerful Awakening Move.

Naruto’s abilities are all great, especially “Rasengan”, which quickly closes the gap between the player and the opponent before delivering a devastating blow that is difficult to avoid.

6Killua
Hunter x Hunteris one of the greatest shounen anime of all time, so it’s only fitting that arguably the best character in the show is a beast inJump Force. While it may be easy to become distracted by Killua’s electrifying appearance, that should not overshadow the fighter’s incredible moveset.
Killua’s brilliance comes down to one specific move: Godspeed. While not too common, there are a few abilities that grant stat boosts, with Killua’s Godspeed arguably being the best. Along with delivering a powerful hit to anyone who steps into the attack’s zone, a fully charged Godspeed also enhances Killua’s speed and attack power. The character is among the fasted in the game, which is always a positive for getting around blocks.

5Trafalgar D. Water Law
If there were two thingsJump Forcedidn’t need as DLC, they had to be moreOne Piececharacters and swordsmen. Naturally, Law was released as DLC towards the end of 2019, and unsurprisingly, he is among thestrongest characters inJump Force.
Likein the anime, Law needs to catch targets in a ROOM to execute techniques, which might sound like a weakness. However, it just means Law doesn’t need to be close to other fighters to complete attacks. These moves do inflict damage to Law as well, but it is a small price to pay.

Law’s Move List
4Kenshin
Kenshin is among the most overpowered charactersin the game, with a rush combo that seems to last forever and delivers decent damage. Kenshin’s heavy combo is also effective, ending with a spinning attack that usually breaks through guards.

Kenshin’s abilities are universally devastating, but “Dragon Cry Flash” deserves a special mention. This move hits for a ton of damage, chains seamlessly into combos, and Kenshin looks awesome while doing it. Conversely, Kenshin’s Awakening Move is just decent.
