Fans now have a date to look forward to for the true conclusion ofStranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. Alongside the release of a teaser trailer for the upcoming Different Future DLC,Square Enixhas also confirmed its release date. Different Future will officially arrive on all platforms starting January 27. In less than a month,Stranger of Paradiseplayers will have the conclusion that they’ve been waiting for.
Little has been said about what Different Future will deliver in terms of story. The new DLC is said to take place in a different timeline altogether, one where everything has gone wrong. A Moogle from the star’s future begs Jack and friends to help set the star back on its proper course beforeLufeniacan “reset” it. The Moogle, Lufenia, and probably Jack as well, likely have no idea what will truly happen next. It’s doubtful to be the happy ending that might be typical in other epic RPGs, at least.
Those worried that Different Future will take a more serious turn don’t appear to have to worry, either. The teaser trailer features Jack telling Lufenia to, “Get your head out of your ***.” The irreverence thatStranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Originhas for theFinal Fantasyseries' typically serious overtones remains consistent.
