Bethesda has so far been updating its space-faring RPG at a fairly steady pace. Counting beta releases, patch 1.9.67 is the ninthStarfieldupdate since the beginning of its early access period in September 2023, as well as its tenth overall. It arrives a month after themassiveStarfieldupdate 1.9.51, which introduced over 120 changes to the game.

Starfield Now Supports AMD FSR 3 Upscaling
The stable version of the new patch rolled out on February 20, two weeks afterSteam users started testingStarfieldupdate 1.9.67. The changelog attached to this release is identical to the one from early February, which detailed eight fixes and improvements, half of which were related to the RPG’s graphics. Of those, the biggest highlight from the update is the added support for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 3, a spatial upscaler that raises the game’s resolution with a minimal performance overhead.
Starfieldplayers with contemporary AMD GPUs should hence now be able to enjoy a higher frame rate, resolution, or both, depending on the graphics settings they used prior to the patch. As for how contemporary their GPUs have to be, FSR 3 officially supports cards as old as the Radeon RX 5700, which hit the market in July 2019. The latestStarfieldupdatealso introduces support for Intel Xe Super Sampling (XeSS), another AI-powered upscaling solution that’s not only compatible with Intel Arc GPUs but also works with many of their Nvidia and AMD rivals.
Bethesda even refined the game’s support for Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling tech as part of this update, which fixes a peculiar issue that previously made clouds appear to vibrate in performance mode. Beyond that, the patch attempts to alleviate an issue that sometimescausesStarfieldto crashwhen loading a save that has “visited many locations.” To that end, the developers altered some of the background logic for handling FormIDs, unique hexadecimal identifiers attached to all in-game objects, which has apparently been exacerbating the problem.
Starfieldupdate 1.9.67 also fixes a Ship Builder crash that would sometimes occur when trying to delete spacecraft modules that contained items, forcing the game to send those objects to the cargo bay. Finally, the patch addresses a PC-specific bug introduced in the previous update that made the game open the data menu when the player took a screenshot by pressing the F12 key.
