Stardew Valleyhas been one of the defining indie games of the last decade, proving definitively that smaller titles can have just as much influence as their triple-a counterparts, if not more. And while there are lots of different reasons for fans to appreciate the game, there’s an equally broad selection of ways that they show that appreciation. Some ways are much more creative than others, however, as evidenced by a new viral video.

Over on Reddit, u/RaggedInsomnia9 shared a video of theirStardew Valleyfarm, though the focus here wasn’t on the crops that one would normally expect a player to have dominating their land. Rather, the user has cobbled together a wonderful musical display showcasing Rick Astley’s most notable musical work, Never Gonna Give You Up. The song is better known for its meme form, the Rick Roll.

RaggedInsomnia9’sStardew ValleyRick Rolluses the flute and drum blocks to play out the song, keeping rhythm with the lyrics and the tempo the song is iconic for. Periodically, the video of the farm setup layers the music video over the footage, showing just how perfectly everything comes together. It’s an impressive display, successfully capturing the sounds of a song that has disappointed nearly every internet-goer out there at one point or another.

According to RaggedInsomnia9, the entire thing took about eight hours to set up, which is a pretty significant time investment. As far as why the user created it in the first place, they simply stated that they have too much free time on their hands. The plans for the flute and drum setup appear to go back a few weeks too, as the user encouraged someone else to try and recreate the Rick Roll about a month before this video was posted.

Enthusiastic creations are some of the defining ways that gamers can share their appreciation for a certain project. Reddit has been a hotbed for user-generated creations in games likeAnimal Crossing,Red Dead Redemption, Skyrim, and, of course,Stardew Valley. Plus, the wave of fan creations all over the internet shows no indication of slowing down anytime soon.

Stardew Valleyis seemingly nearing the end of its content update lifecycle, though developer ConcernedApe should have more on the horizon. While it isn’t entirely clear what they’ll be cooking up next, it’ll likely be a success if it can capture even an ounce ofStardew Valley’s influence.

Stardew Valleyis available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
