Star Wars Jedi: Survivorwas first revealed a couple of months ago with a cinematic trailer that teased story developments and featured a mysterious Bacta tank, but otherwise left a lot of questions about what it will entail in terms of gameplay. Fans still don’t really know whatStar Wars Jedi: Survivorwill bring to the table in terms of gameplay, but a Cal Kestis figure spotted at San Diego Comic-Con may reveal a couple of interesting details.
Hasbro has revealed some new figures based onStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, with theCal Kestisfigure of particular interest to fans. Those that look closely at the Cal Kestis figure can see that he is now apparently sporting a short beard, giving him an older look compared to how he appeared inStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. A more important detail, however, may be the blaster that Kestis has on his hip.

InStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Cal Kestis' combat was restricted to using his lightsaber andForce powers. However, the Cal Kestis figure based on his appearance inStar Wars Jedi: Survivorshows him outfitted with a blaster. While this could be meaningless, it does seem to suggest that Kestis will have a blaster at his disposal in the new game, potentially adding an interesting new layer to the combat.
The other figures include a look atCal Kestis' trusty droid BD-1, a B-1 battle droid, and KX security droid. Cal will presumably have to fight these droids at some point inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, though fans will have to wait to learn more about the game to know for sure. As previously mentioned, no gameplay has been shown just yet, and it’s unclear exactly when the game will be shown off properly.
There is a rumor thatStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s release datewill be at some point in March 2023. If that rumors turns out to be true, then one has to imagine that more information on the game will come sooner rather than later, so maybe fans will learn more about Cal’s new look and blaster.
Then again, it may be that the release date rumor is completely off and fans won’t learn more about the game until much later. In terms of entertainment industry events happening this year,Star Wars Jedi: Survivorhas the best shot at showing up at D23 in September orThe Game Awards in December, but it hasn’t actually been confirmed for either one just yet.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris in development for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
