Summary

Fans ofStar Wars Jedi: Survivorand its predecessor,Jedi: Fallen Order, are eagerly anticipating more news of a sequel, as the game’s star, Cameron Monaghan, has confirmed a third game is in development.Jedi: Survivorcontinued the story of Cal Kestis, while adding some new characters to the roster, as well as a brand-new adventure full of new locations, Jedi skills for Cal, and relationships.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris full of compelling and lovable characters, many of which are difficult to forget after the credits roll. However, some shine a bit brighter than others in terms of what they contribute to the overarching narrative, and they would therefore serve as excellent additions toJedi: Survivor’s sequel. As such, these linchpin characters deserve the spotlight while talk of aJedi: Survivorsequel continues to escalate, as each one of them should not be sidelined in the next installment.

Greez Dritus

Greez Dritus is one of Cal’s most loyal companions in bothStar Wars Jedi: Fallen OrderandJedi: Survivor, and he has continually proven he will do anything for the young Jedi. However, it may be time for his role as little more than a trustworthy sidekick and pilot to transform in aStar Wars Jedi: Survivorsequel. Perhaps the full extent of how far he and Cal’s relationship is willing to be tested could be explored in a sequel, leading to morecharacter development forStar Wars' Greezand Cal.

Cere Junda

AlthoughCere was slain inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor, her Force ghost appeared to Cal at the end of the game and spoke to him. Despite having fallen, her character could continue to communicate with Cal in a sequel, guiding him through his newfound rage and tendencies toward the Dark Side. Cere has become a beloved character over the last two installments, so to sideline her now could be a mistake.

Kata Akuna

Kata Akuna is the daughter of Bode Akuna, a former Jedi Knight who became a close companion of Cal’s duringStar Wars Jedi: Survivor. However, Bode betrays Cal and his friends for his own interests in the end, eventually resulting in his demise and the orphaning of his daughter, Kata. While it was not entirely confirmed, the assumption is thatCal will train Kata in the ways of the Force in aStar Wars Jedithreequel. After all, Cere did appear to Cal inJedi: Survivor’s final moments to say, “Cal, guide her through the darkness,” a statement that is believed to be in reference to Kata.

Merrin

Merrin wasStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s breakout character, despite her appearance inJedi: Fallen Order, and there is little reason why she shouldn’t be a prominent character in a sequel. As she and Cal grew much closer inJedi: Survivor, especially romantically, she has now stepped into a role she wasn’t in before, where her relationship with Cal will ultimately determine what kind of Jedi he will be in a sequel. Her inclusion in a sequel would thus serve as an excellent character development opportunity for Cal, even more so than it did inJedi: Survivor.

As the development of aStar Wars Jedi: Survivorsequelcontinues, it’s important that developer Respawn not only considers the characters that fans have grown to love but also those who have already had a lasting impact on the franchise and will likely continue to do so in future stories. Many of these characters have shown in the latest installment how worthy they are of more prominence in the next game, so the hope is that they are treated as such and given the roles they deserve.
