There is evidence to suggest that 2019’sStarWars Jedi: Fallen Ordermay be set to re-release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in the near future. Though nothing is yet confirmed, it makes sense that EA might want to give the game another chance to shine before a sequel is announced.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas developed by Respawn and published by EA, and released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game came after years of fans asking for a single-playerStar Warsgame and the backlash overStar Wars Battlefront 2’smicrotransactions.

Back in January,Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas updated to run betteron the new generation of consoles with new graphic options added. The update to the game suggested that a re-release of the game was unlikely. However, that no longer seems to be the case. USK, the organization responsible for rating games in Germany, has posted two age ratings forStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, one for PlayStation 5 and another for Microsoft Xbox. The new ratings are dated as being given on March 2nd, 2021, as ratings are not needed for updates to games; this means we may hear an announcement about a re-release soon.
Still, it is important to remember that these ratings are not a confirmation of anything yet as they may be a mistake or simply part of a procedure. Even if it is a sign of a re-release, there is no way of knowing how much of a difference there will be between the updated versions and any new versions of the game. EA also has a history of abandoningStar Warsgames and projects in development, so even if the game is rated, there is still a chance the game doesn’t get revealed.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderwas well-reviewed, and for good reason; the game placed a focus on exploration and offered a new story in the galaxy of adventures, and after many disappointing and canceledStar Warsgames, many fans were pleased to have a single-player experience finally. The game did suffer from slowdown and some pretty bad framerate drops, which have been improved in the update on the new generation of consoles. Still, a re-release could hopefully improve the game’s stability further.
That being said, unless a potential re-release offers sizeable changes and additional content, it would be hard to argue paying full price forStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderonce again, especially as players can upgrade their old versions for free.
