Michael Cusack told The Cinema Spot that he and co-creator Zach Radel want to make sure to keep the show creative. That definitely shows in every episode. Cusack said, “I feel like that energy is just coming from Zach and I making each other laugh. Our whole thing is that we really love seeing stuff we’ve never seen before. That’s why the show is mixed media, getting 3-D elements and the stupid detailed shots [from] old school cartoons. Our thing is how to keep it fresh.”
Cusack also said, “We always talk about how ideally, we can cut up the show into clips and they can stand alone as YouTube videos, the same way we used to make YouTube one-minute [or] two-minute clips that were funny.”
Will There Be A Smiling Friends Season 2?
There will be aSmiling Friendsseason 2. In February 2022, Deadline reported that the show had gotten a season 2 renewal. However, there hasn’t been any information since then, and fans definitely wonder when it will premiere.

Cusack said, “Smiling Friends, I can’t say much except it’s going really well. We’re having a fun time doing it, we’re trying to make it better than season 1. I think it’s going to be better than season 1, actually!”
Why Is Smiling Friends Season 2 What Animation Fans Need?

Pip and Charlie may not be quite as well-known as some other animated or cartoon characters, but they are hilarious to watch together. Every time they try to help someone, something goes wrong, and that only upsets Charlie and motivates Pip to keep going. While the show does get into some dark subject matter at times, it’s overall a heartwarming and silly show that stands out from other animated series.
