ASkyrimplayer discovered a brand-new glitch when switching to third person, which some might find funny or perhaps just a little bit disturbing. After playing in first person, a gamer decided to swap to third-person mode, however,Skyrimmade a move they didn’t quite expect.

Skyrimglitches have entertained its players for 11 years now since its release in 2011. It’s possible to launch NPCs into space if a giant, or other supernatural creature, smacks them hard enough, or a player might find some specialflying mammoths only native toSkyrimenjoying the fresh air a few hundred feet up. Every time someone boots upSkyrimthe possibility of discovering a new glitch is possible, and Reddit user boon238 was one of those who could add to the illustrious list. Their video of a new third-person glitch has 97% upvotes, and its viewers clearly appreciate the experience and perhaps the possibility of them living through something as baffling as this themselves when playing the game.

The video boon238 posted is titled “Just switching to 3rd person turned out truly scary,” and whether people find it frightening or simply amusing is entirely up to them. The short video opens with the first-person view, and boon238’s character is brandishing a sword and what seems like a conjuration spell, one of the six magic paths players can learn at theCollege of Winterholm inSkyrim. Then the screen shifts and the viewer seemingly loses sight of the character entirely. Only the slight movement in the corner of the image shows some kind of activity as the character runs into view and then as boon238 stops, his character hovers back into its rightful place on the left side of the screen like some creepy apparition.

Although in most games glitches count as a source of annoyance, forSkyrimplayers, it rather has become a never-ending source of entertainment. The game has been out long enough that most who go through it know most of its story beats andside quests found aroundSkyrimby heartand quoting the lines the NPCs might utter at any given moment. So while there might be some glitches still that occur at the worst possible moment, ruining a perfectly good run, a lot of them provide an even more colorful experience or even an easier one, adding aids the player would not have access to otherwise.

The Elder Scrolls 6is in pre-production, so currently there is not much to know about the game other than that it could be an Xbox exclusive and likely won’t see the light of day before 2026. However, there are likely many players out there who hope for a new and vast world to discover, new challenges, and many more countless glitches and exploits to add to hours of entertainment.
