There have been many editions ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. TheAnniversary Editionincludes more content for players to enjoy, especially in the form of mods. The most prominent one, the Ghosts of the Tribunal mod, gives players a new puzzle to solve. The Ashfall’s Tear puzzle deals with masks and mannequins and allows players access to some ofSkyrim’s useful loot.

To the north of Raven Rock, there is a cave that is home to Ashfall’s Tear. It is a temple to Almalexia, and is the location of the puzzle that is a primary component of the content that is available inSkyrim: Anniversary Edition. To begin solving the puzzle, players will need to first upgrade to theAnniversary Edition.

How To Solve Ashfall’s Tear Puzzle

The Ashfall’s puzzle is one that is simpler than it seems. The puzzle requires players to distribute masks to separate statues in order to open a gate beyond them. They will first have to kill the cultists that find them and read the notes that they are carrying. They can then travel to the temple in Raven Rock. There, players will eventually find two books on a table. One of them will be the Heretic’s Dossier Blacksmith’s Confessional. Once these steps have been completed, players will have officially started the Ghosts of the Tribunal content and can begin to proceed to the puzzle. The puzzle is a little differentfromSkyrim’sother puzzles, but it isn’t very complicated.

Players will have to reach the puzzle room after reading a letter about Matriarch and Erden. They will then be tasked with putting the correct masks on the correct mannequins. Players will see three mannequins at the end of the room. They are, from left to right, Sotha Sil, Almalexia, and Vivec. Once they are all given the correct masks, a gate behind the statue of Almalexia will open and reveal a chest. It isn’t the greatest puzzle orside quest inSkyrim, but it is part of more extensive stories and gives players access to great gear.

The Ghosts of the Tribunal mod is more than just a puzzle, though. It incorporates new gear intoSkyrimand changes the NPC landscape of Solstheim. None of the otherNPCs aroundSkyrim’s mapwill be affected, though, but that isn’t such a hindrance. By focusing new content on one area, players have the opportunity to engage in a quality expansion that lives up to the hype that comes with theElder Scrollsfranchise.
