WhileSuper Mario Bros.is a franchise primarily focused on video games, the brand transcends the medium with countless non-gamers knowing about the existence of the red-capped plumber. Recently, Nintendo has looked to expand the reach of the franchise to other industries including a real-world theme park and even aSuper Mario Bros.movie. In addition to these pursuits, the company has partnered withLEGOto bring variousSuper Mario-themed sets to the toy market. However, it seems like some of these LEGOs are about to become a lot harder to find.

LEGO started sellingSuper Mario-themed setsback in 2020. Since then, Mario and many of the other characters found in the franchise have featured in numerous sets over the past year. Furthermore, LEGO is continuing to produceMarioproducts as Nintendo recently unveiled a new set based onSuper Mario 64. Nevertheless, a recent notification on the Nintendo website seems to suggest that some of the Italian plumber’s LEGOs are about to be discontinued.

Recently, theLEGOUK website added notifications to 3 Super Mario sets. According to the website, Boomer Bill Barrage Expansion Set, Whomp’s Lava Trouble Expansion Set, and Builder Mario Power-Up Pack are “retiring soon.” This suggests that after the stock for these items is gone, no additional units will be produced.

This news about the possible discontinuation of someSuper MarioLEGOs, shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to Nintendo fans. The company is no stranger to using alimited-time release strategy for its products as last year’sSuper Mario 3D All-Starsevidenced. This collection of games meant to celebrate Mario’s 35th anniversary includedSuper Mario 64,Super Mario Sunshine, andSuper Mario Galaxy. However, Nintendo announced that the games would only be available for purchase for a short duration of time. Unfortunately for fans, Nintendo was true to its word and discontinuedSuper Mario 3D All-Starson July 19, 2025. If this game collection is any indication, it seems possible that these selectSuper MarioLEGO sets could be phased out in the coming weeks as well.

Despite this, it’s important to note that these notifications on the LEGO UK website are the only news regarding the removal of these sets. It’s also worth highlighting that theSuper MarioLEGOs have been extremely successfulfor the company, which makes the retirement of these sets somewhat strange. While at the time of writing, all 3 sets are still available for purchase, collectors might want to consider purchasing theseMariosets in case they do leave store shelves in the near future.
