Rumors of aMetal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eaterremake have been doing the rounds on the internet for years at this point and today, the fans anticipating the upgrade received some exciting news. TheMetal Gear Solidseries, created by game designer Hideo Kojima, is known for its innovation in stealth-action gameplay and its dense and sophisticated storytelling, which resulted in the creation of some of gaming’s most iconic characters.The series has garnered a loyal fanbase over the decades since it began, however most of those fans idolize Kojima over Konami, the Japanese company who holds theMGSrights and is responsible for publishing the series. A very messy falling out took place between Kojima and Konami at the end of 2015, followingthe launch ofMetal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. In addition to theMetal Gear Solid 3remake, there are also alleged plans tore-release otherMetal Gear Solidgames, although it’s unclear at this point which games will be re-released, and which form those re-releases will take.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eaterwas originally released in 2004, and was widely praised for its innovative gameplay mechanics and compelling storyline. This remake is expected to feature updated graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, and possibly even some new content. As excited asMGSfans are for this project, some are understandably cautious about the prospect ofMetal Gear Solid 3being remade with Konami at the helm, given the company’s recent track record. The publisher has developed a bad reputation over the last decade, with many fans accusing it of mishandling theSilent Hillfranchise and theCastlevaniaIP.
