However, there seems to be a new rumor suggesting that theBloodbornePC port might be canceled. Speaking on The Wild Project podcast, Spanish streamer Baitybait said (as translated by PlayStation Lifestyle) that an unnamed source revealed that Virtuos was originally working on theBloodbornePC port, but Sony allegedly stopped the project after it “bungled thePC port ofHorizon Zero Dawn” when it was released in 2020. The streamer continued that Sony pulled in Guerilla to finish theHorizonPC port, as well as Nixxes to do the patch updates later on.
Baitybait’s claims seem to contradict previous reports atBloodbornewas finally coming to PC, along with a remastered version and a sequel for the PS5, care of Bluepoint, so gamers should take this with a grain of salt. Likewise, many fans either weren’t surprised thatBloodbornePC might not happen, or weren’t convinced with the rumor.
While there are still no official announcement regardingBloodborne’s future, it’s clear that many fans have been clamoring for a new version or sequel of the game. It came to a point thatthey got upset afterGod of War’s PC port was announcedas they expected Sony to do the same for the FromSoftware title. If it is true thatBloodbornePC was already finished by Bluepoint, then it might be a case of Sony looking for the right time to announce the big news.
Meanwhile, FromSoftware had a big year in 2022 with the release ofElden Ring, which won multiple accolades, including Game of the Year, from various award-giving bodies.
