Popular sports gameRocket Leaguehosts its Haunted Hallows event every year, and this year the event is pairing up with another hit franchise. Now,Rocket League’s Haunted Hallows is going upside down in a crossover with Netflix’sStranger Things, beginning in just a few days on October 14.
Rocket League, otherwise known as the soccer game played with rocket-powered cars, has periodically crossed over with other properties–including WWEandFast and Furious. Now it’s been announced that the upcomingStranger Things-themed event will bring some new “top secret wares developed by the Hawkins National Laboratory,” and even a redecorated arena.

Once October 14 rolls around, players will gain access toStranger Things-styled cosmetic add-ons to their battle-cars and banners, and some themed autumn items will be added to theRocket Leaguestore. Already revealed from photos released by Psyonix, the game’s developer (which wasrecently acquired byFortnitedeveloper Epic Games), are a car topper in the shape of Dustin’s Camp Know Where hat, wheels with the Starcourt Mall logo, a Scoops Ahoy-themed avatar border, a Hawaiian Hopper Decal, a Demogorgon player banner, and aStranger Thingsbooster.
Then there’s the revamped arena: the Farmstead Arena will take on the qualities of the Upside Down, withStranger Things’season 3 Mind Flayer looming above the game. As with previous Haunted Hallows events, players that make it out of the Farmstead in online multiplayer matches can win Candy Corn for use in purchasing treats from the event store.
After dropping on October 14, just afterRocket League’s October update, this year’s Haunted Hallows event will run until November 11. As per usual forRocket League’s Halloween events, players will have an extra three-day redemption period to spend their remaining Candy Corn winnings. That means players who plan to earn big during the event should mark their calendars!
Rocket Leaguehas been going through a number of changes recently, including Psyonix’s announcement thatloot crates would be removed from the game, which was met with approval overall from players. That change makes sense given Psyonix’s accquisition by Epic, sinceFortniteunderwent the same shift earlier this year–and hopefully this year’s Haunted Hallows homage to the well-lovedStranger Thingswill delight fans just as much.
