Summary
It’s no secret that Gearbox Software is working on a newBorderlandsgame. Whether it’sBorderlands4or another spin-off in the mayhem-filled looter-shooter franchise, there are some familiar faces that fans would love to see return for a potentialBorderlands4. Vault Hunters have always been the fun and gun-loving protagonists of theBorderlandsseries, and some are owed a comeback.
With a vast library of impressively powerful and hilarious Vault Hunters, the choices for who should lead the charge inBorderlands4is an expansive one, and almost every Vault Hunter across themultitude ofBorderlandsgamesdeserves a spot, but only a few will be crowned the best.

There’s nothing Brick loves more than throwing guns aside and resorting to mindless bare-knuckled violence. Actually, he might prefer puppies. Brick has featured in all the mainlineBorderlandsgames, and it would be great to see him again. He’s loud, passionate, and pretty brutal when it comes to his fists and his heart.
Brick would make for a great returning Vault Hunter, not only for the abilities of a melee brawler that focuses on healing and explosive damage thanks to a Berserk state but for his potential hilarity. Brick is one of the funniest characters inBorderlands, and to see his humor spark the mayhem again would be great.

As an assassin for hire, Zer0 deserves credit for being the ultimate killer in the galaxy. He lives for the hunt, whether it’s political or just a common thug. His skills are unmatched, and he’s proved it time and again thanks to his amazing abilities to be one with shadow and literally turn invisible. With his strength, there is also great mystery.
Including Zer0 would be interesting, for not much is known about who or what Zer0 is. Could he be a robot or an alien? Perhaps he’s just a human? Zer0’sstory deserves some answersin a potentialBorderlands4, and returning to an assassin-focused class would certainly elevate gameplay.

A Gladiator class that led the charge inBorderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Athena is able to use her shield to bash and absorb damage to allow for some extreme combat and assassin skills. Athena is the pinnacle of cool, and a character that isno stranger to theBorderlandsfranchise.
Trained to be an assassin since her youth, Athena is extremely deadly but also harbors compassion for those undeserving. If there’s anything Athena hates, it’s the Atlas corporation, so it would be nice to see her play a role inBorderlands4if another mega-corp is involved in the plot. Athena has been with the series since the first game thanks to the Secret Armory of General Knoxx DLC, so it would be nice to see her return after her absence.

Someone who loves a good brawland to further impress with her Siren abilities, Amara’s South Asian cultural influence makes her an even more detailed character that deserves expansion. Whilst Sirens have been present in theBorderlandsgames previously, Amara’s use of those powers is perhaps the most interesting, due to phase-casted fists.
Amara is one of the more recent Vault Hunters, so it would be nice to see at least one of these new faces continue into the future ofBorderlands. Amara definitely has a chance, as she’s a Siren. Sirens have incredible and mysterious powers, and only 6 Sirens can exist at any given time.

3Mordecai
A Hunter With A Passion For Birds
A lover of cash, guns, booze, and his deceased bird Bloodwing, Mordecai was one of the original Vault Hunters of Pandora and one who deserves another game to return in. As a playable character, Mordecai was great fun for those who enjoy sharpshooting with snipers and revolvers, especially with the AI-assisted beast Bloodwing by their side.
Whilst Bloodwing may have unfortunately been murdered, it shouldn’t stop Mordecai from reaping the rewards of the universe for what it owes him. Including Mordecai would be great, to see him both mourn and move on from the loss of Bloodwing, and show off his charismatic affinity for danger.

2Timothy Lawrence (Jack)
Handsome Jack’s Body Double
Assisting the real Handsome Jack on Helios, Timothy Lawrence underwent reconstructive surgery to become the Hyperion CEO and brought with him many talents and gadgets that Handsome Jack would use. Whilst his strengths were not all that grand, his appearance and voice certainly are.
The illustrious and brutal Handsome Jack may have seen his end inBorderlands2, but his legacy lives on in what remains of Hyperion and with his body double, Timothy Lawrence. Despite looking and sounding like Jack, Timothy Lawrence is indeed not.Everyone loves Handsome Jackthanks to his performance from Dameon Clarke, so why not bring him back, but as a kinder version?

1Salvador
The Gunzerker Who Can Dual-Wield Any Two Weapons
Size matters not with Salvador, and he won’t let anything get in the way of his desire for loot, violence, and an abundance of guns to carry. As the Gunzerker class, Salvador was great fun, and players could bring two overpowered weapons into the fight for quick reloads extra damage, and near-infinite magazines.
Salvador hasn’t been seen or heard from much since his adventure inBorderlands2, and hopefully, that will change. It’s no surprise for his absence, as he’s racked up a pretty hefty bounty on his head that would make anyone cower. Yet, Salvador most likelywelcomes the challengewith an oversized gun in each hand.
