The much anticipatedResident Evil Villageis finally in players' hands. Already players are exploring, getting somewhat scared, andlooking forward to newResident Evilreleases.
Part ofResident Evil Villagethat some players are chasing after has very little to do with the game itself and instead focuses on the metagame. This is the chase of achievements, a common practice in many video games since their introduction on multiple platforms. While a few ofVillage’s achievements are cakewalks, others require more esoteric means to complete. One in particular, “Timber,” seems like a nightmare, so here’s a guide to making it much more bearable.

The Timber Achievement
The Timber achievement sounds simple on paper, but is complex in execution. To get it, players must defeat Urias, the large Lycan, the first time they meet him in the woods. This is almost at the start of the game, and all players have is a pistol and shotgun. Don’t try and get the achievement at that point, instead…
Step 1: Beat the Game
Step 2: Infinite Ammo
After beating the game, players willunlock access to Infinite Ammo. This is a cheat that can be enabled for any weapon, but only if that weapon has been fully upgraded during a campaign. Provided the Grenade Launcher or weapon of similar power has been fully upgraded, CP can be used to purchase infinite ammo for it. Do exactly that.
Final Step: New Game Plus
Beating the campaign also unlocks access to New Game Plus. This mode allows players to start a new campaign with all the equipment they had in a previously completed file. Choose the file with the upgraded Grenade Launcher and,if found, Moreau’s Magnum. Have Infinite Ammo for these powerful weapons turned on, then go through the opening onslaught again. Take out the weaker Lycans, then unload on Urias until he goes down. He drops a hefty amount of Lei too, but that’s really just the cherry on top of the achievement cake.
Resident Evil Villageis out now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
