Call of Duty: Warzonefans that have been making use of the game’s Weapon XP trick may want to make the most of it while they can. Raven Software is now fully aware of the bug, with theCall of Duty: Warzonedeveloper disabling Double XP in Plunder until a fix is made.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s Double Weapon XP trickwas found alongside the debut of Caldera. Part of what makes it so effective is the fact that it can be done in Plunder, a game mode where players respawn if they die. As such, death is not a deterrent whatsoever, as players can keep on respawning to focus on the exploit. Aside from being doable in Plunder, the trick is ridiculously easy to pull off, as all players need to do is complete the game’s new Top Secret Contracts.

Added as part ofCall of Duty: Warzone’s Season 1 update, the Top Secret Contracts are bugged to give more Weapon XP each time that one is completed. Players can stack the Contracts, focusing on completing as many as possible each match. With this exploit, a gun can be leveled up a few dozen times in one match, as the Double Weapon XP period made the trick even more beneficial. With many players maxing out the new guns quickly with the exploit, though, it was a matter of time before it was noticed by the developers.

Raven Software has disabled Double Weapon XP inPlunderfor the time being, a decision that has disappointed those that have been pairing the Double Weapon XP period with the Top Secret Contract exploit. With many feeling that weapon leveling takes too long in its default state, fans feel like this bug made things fair. Twitter user @jM77125376, for example, believes that players using the trick are just trying to “have fun.” Considering that those with maxed out weapons have access to better attachments, casual players have been using the exploit to even the playing field.

Regardless,Raven Softwarewill likely stand by its decision, as the developer surely sees the exploit as something that completely ruins the game’s progression. While fans will continue to debate the decision, the fact remains that those who enjoy Plunder will not be able to benefit from Double Weapon XP. Normal Double XP and Double Battle Pass XP has also been disabled in Plunder, as the Top Secret Contracts seem to be leveling players up in those areas as well.

For now, Raven Software’s Trello page states that the Contract bug is still being investigated. As such,Call of Duty: Warzoneplayerswill need to wait for a solution or play something other than Plunder to make use of the Double XP period.
