Pokimane has been a long mainstay onTwitch, being one of the most popular female streamers on the platform. She has held the title of THEmost popular female streamer before, before falling behind Amouranthin 2021. Nonetheless, she still made up several million views and had a stellar 2021.

That’s not just in her streaming ventures, either. Throughout the past year, Pokimane announced that she wasthe co-founder and CCO of a new company RTS, has helped fans get scholarships, and far more. She’s had an incredible run on Twitch, but a recent tweet suggests that it’s coming to an end.

Pokimane doesn’t appear to be retiring, though she’s always talked about that in the past, but in a tweet on January 31, she confirms her Twitch contract has come to an end after a “wild 2 years.” While Pokimane could have renewed, her tweet would suggest that she’s decided upon something else. It’s unclear what exactly is in the cards for Pokimane, but fans will know soon.

In the same tweet, she stated that she would see everyone on February 8 for “the next chapter.” Prior streamers have used similar language when moving from Twitch to Facebook Gaming, from Twitch to YouTube, or fromTwitch to Mixer (before it was shut down). As such, many are speculating that Pokimane is leaving Twitch for one of these other services, though depending on any contractual obligations that may be unknown, she could in theory still appear on Twitch (as it stands).

February 8 is crudely a week away, so fans should keep an eye onPokimane’s social media platforms for an announcement before then. If fan speculation is true and she is moving platforms, it’s likely Pokimane would announce this information ahead of her first stream on the platform. At the same time, it could have nothing to do with streaming and then fans will have to wait and see what she announces on February 8.

In theory, it could be something else entirely or even a proper announcement of her retirement fromTwitch. This does seem unlikely given she intends to “see” fans on February 8, though that could be reading too closely into it. Regardless, the facts remain: Pokimane is no longer contractually obligated toTwitch, can move to other services entirely, or decide upon another course of action. Fans will likely discover the greater implications of her contract’s expiration in the days building up to February 8, if not then.
