The Crown Tundra DLC forPokemon SwordandPokemon Shieldhas finally dropped, bringing a host of new Pokemon as well assome returning favorites, like Zapdosand the other Legendary Birds. The Crown Tundra has a massive Wild Area for trainers to explore, battle, and catch Pokemon.
One of the returning Pokemon is a fan favorite from the Alola region, Poipole, the Poison-type Ultra Beast.Poipole has a couple of successful methodsof catching it, where it’ll start at level 20 with the moves Helping Hand, Fury Attack, and Fell Stinger. Its ability, Beast Boost, will increase whatever Poipole’s highest stat is every time it knocks out another Pokemon in battle.

Once Poipole is in the trainer’s party, fans will likely be curious about how they can evolve the Ultra Beast into its next form, Naganadel. Naganadel is a dual-typed Dragon/Poison Pokemon sometimes known by the codename, UB Stinger. Players fromPokemon SwordandShieldcan evolve their Poipole using the same method they used inPokemon SunorMoon, and that’s by teaching Poipole the move Dragon Pulse, and then leveling up only once.
While that method seems fairly simple on its own, teaching Dragon Pulse to Poipole might catch a few players off guard. Some players may already have Technical Record 62, which can be found by exchanging Watts to Traders,Max Raid Battlesin Axew’s Eye and the Rolling Fields, or by means of the Cram-o-Matic. There’s also a small island off the Isle of Armor’s shores in the Insular Sea that houses TR62. The final and perhaps easiest option is to simply head to the Pokemon Center and talk to the All-In-One NPC behind the leftmost counter. He’ll give you instant access to Dragon Pulse for Poipole.
Whether fans want an easy route via the Pokemon Center, a trading sequence, or an epic quest, claiming TR62 and thusly teaching it to Poipole to secure Naganadel’s evolution, it certainly isn’t very hard to accomplish. After evolving into Naganadel, trainers can now begin raising his stats to their liking for heated competitive battles acrosseverything the Crown Tundra has to offer.
With Naganadel helping players on their Pokemon journeys, coupled with Crown Tundra’s 100% catch-rate for Legendaries, completely filling out the available Pokedex is easier than ever, where evenLegendaries like Keldeoare within the player’s reach. The game’s primary focus has always been “catching ‘em all” so fans should be very pleased that their goal is just that more obtainable.
