While exploring the Hisui region inPokemon Legends: Arceus, players are encouraged by the Galaxy Team to catch as many Pokemon as possible. The purpose of this is to complete the first-ever Pokedex. As more Pokemon are caught, Jubilife Village’s residents grow more curious about Pokemon and will occasionally put up a Request.
Pokemon Legends: Arceusis divided into Missions and Requests. The Missions follow the story and postgame ofLegends: Arceusand must be completed. Requests are optional sidequests that have varying rewards based on the requester. Some Requests are readily available with each new Mission, but others won’t be visible until players have caught the right Pokemon. Request 36 is one of the latter, and if players are neglecting their Pokedex research, they’re bound to miss out on more than a few.

Request 36: How to Unlock & Complete
To start Request 36, players will first need to have gained access to the Crimson Mirelands. Players will start the story mission “Arezu’s Predicament” in which they are tasked with helping Calaba of the Pearl Clan. After they’ve made some progress in the Mission, players will then need tohelp set up the Bogbound Camp. Finally, after all of this, players can start looking for the Pokemon that triggers Request 36.
To do so, they should use Wyrdeer to make their way toCloudpool Ridgeon the map. This is north of the Bogbound Camp between the Diamond Settlement and near Brava Arena. As long as it’s not raining, the Rock-type Sudowoodo and its pre-evolved form Bonsly should be found wandering about.
Request 36 calls for a Sudowoodo. Thankfully, Sudowoodoisn’t an aggressive or timid Pokemon. If it spots humans, it’ll freeze up and mimic a tree. Despite this, it may be difficult to get a backstrike catch on Sudowoodo if players aren’t fast enough. They should use Heavy Balls or Great Balls to catch Sudowoodo. Once this is done, they’ll need to report to Laventon and then return to Jubilife Village.
As long as Sudowoodo is added to the Pokedex, Request 36 will bevisible on the blackboard in Laventon’s office. The requester is a man named Odo, who noticed a depressed-looking Sudowoodo hanging around the Bogbound Camp. After accepting Request 36, players should return to the Bogbound Camp in Crimson Mirelands and speak with Odo.
The dialogue choices players select during this sidequest will not change anything and are merely there for comic relief. Odo will want players to bring a Pokemon that knows Water Pulse to make Sudoowoodo feel better. Many Pokemon fans will see exactly why this is a bad idea, but Odo insists, so players should just go ahead and bring a Pokemon that knows Water Pulse. If players didn’t choose Oshawott for their starter, the following Pokemon prior to Cobalt Coastlands (the third area) can learn this movevia leveling up or tutoring:
After getting their hands on one of these Pokemon, players should speak with Odo, after which theirPokemon will use Water Pulseon the unexpecting Sudowoodo, causing it to attack.The Pokemon with Water Pulse does not need to be in the active party, so it’s not necessary to make room for it prior to battling Sudowoodo.
Sudowoodo is a slow Pokemon, so any Grass-type or Water-type can easily defeat it and potentially 1HKO. Defeating Sudowoodo finishes Request 36, and prompts Odo to giveHeavy Balls (x15)andExp. Candy S (x3)as a way of saying thanks.
