One dedicatedPokemonfan has carved Poliwag and its evolutions onto the top of a customized box. The iconic series is currently on its ninth generation of mainlinePokemongames withPokemon Scarlet and Violetboth launchingearlier this year in November.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetlaunched to mix reviews with most publications citing the ridiculous amount of glitches and technical issues in the game as well as some of the poor textures and dated environment models. Despite the reviews,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetsold over 10 million copiesworldwide, and became the biggest software launch on any Nintendo platform. Fan reception online has been mixed with plenty of memes mocking the technical issues, but plenty of players are also really enjoying the refreshing features of the game. ThePokemonseries may be nearly 30 years old, but the success of their most recent release shows how relevant the series continues to be.

One dedicated fan shared a picture of their dedication to the series online when they posted a customized box they had created withPokemoncarvings added to the top of the box. In a post to Reddit, FrigginBoomT shared their love forthe Kanto region Pokemon, Poliwag and all of its evolutions. The artwork is fairly detailed to be a wood carving and captures the emotion and personality of each evolution well with the facial expressions of each evolution standing out in particular.
OtherPokemonfans replied to the post and most of those replies were compliments to the artist on a job well done. One user, however, was off-put by the sizing disparity between Politoed and Poliwrath. Another member stated they had never seen an angry Politoed before but loved the work regardless. The original poster also responded to a post asking if they had an Etsy shop, which they confirmed and added that they mainly focus on commissions.
Pokemonis certainly a series that is near and dear to most gamers who have grown with the series over its nine mainline installments. Despite the mixed reviews and criticisms of the limitations of the Switch for future Nintendo game releases, the series is continuing to grow and invent new ways for players to enjoy a familiar experience of capturing, trading, and battling these cute and adorable companion creatures. Fans of the series have much to be excited for with rumors of that there are currently plans for aDLC reveal forPokemon Scarlet and Violet.
