A talentedPokemonfan has recently designed new Ice-type versions of Cacnea and Cacturne. Ever since the release of the first games in the franchise, thePokemoncommunity has spent a long time creating amazing fan art, and swapping the types of classic creatures is one of the most common ways to produce interesting pieces of artwork.
Cacnea and Cacturnefirst appeared inPokemon Ruby and Sapphireas cactus-inspired creatures that could only be found in the games’ deserts. After being captured by the player, the Grass-type Cacnea evolves into the Grass/Dark-type Cacturne at Level 32.
Now, aPokemonfan called Just-Drawing-Mons unveiled their latest creation: Ice-type versions for Cacnea and Cacturne. These forms have an interesting twist for Pokemon that often live in the desert, as they transform the two creatures into snowmen. Both designs are easily recognizable, as they have the exact same body size, but some small tweaks make a huge difference, such as using white and blue colors instead of green and having long carrot noses that are very typical of snowmen.
Ice-Type Cacnea and Cacturne Pokemon Fan Art
Despite Cacnea and Cacturne not being remembered often as the best Pokemon in the third generation of the franchise, they’re quite popular in fan art. Some days ago, for instance, a gamer devised aKalos-themed regional variant for the Cacturne familyinspired by the upcomingPokemon Legends Z-A. Not only do these Grass/Dark-type versions of the cactus creatures look good, but the fan also came up with a third evolution for these Pokemon called Cacturreaux, which was inspired by French executioners.
A few months ago, another fan had a similar idea and designed abrand-new evolution for Cacturne. Called Cactilinger, this new form was inspired by the mixture of a scarecrow and a gunslinger. Curiously, the creature’s creator even came up with a special way for players to evolve Cacturne into this creature. To evolve their Pokemon, they would need to make two Cacturnes fight exactly during noon while holding a Thorn Rosary in their inventory.
Another unique take on Cacnea and its evolution was an art piece devised by yet another fan recently. In thisconvergent form of Cacnea and Cacturne, a gamer essentially created a version of the cactus Pokemon inspired by children’s candy. These new versions look weird in all the good ways, as their pink and purple color palette make them look very distinctive from their original counterparts.
