Posted onto thePokemonsubreddit, a user by the handle of Bigbudlego is amassing thousands of upvotes for their time lapse build of the iconic Pikachu. Clocking in at just over 30 seconds, viewers will see the famous Electric-type being built literally from the ground (technically table) up, assembled before their very eyes. Once the build is complete, the clip transitions to some professional-looking panning shots, showing that this LEGO version of Pikachu has all of the key details fans have come to identify. The last few seconds reveal an accompanying Pokeball, also built purely out of LEGO.

Comments on the time lapse video have been near-universally positive, with manyPokemonfans lauding the builder for his creation. Many fans praised this specific version of Pikachu, which is the Pokemon’s earlier design, lovingly dubbed “fat Pikachu.” Bigbudlego reveals the build took a whopping 2,483 bricks, and was made possible by using an online database called brickerbuilds.com. Unlike theLEGO versions of the Sinnoh region startersthat dominated the same subreddit last week, this LEGO Pikachu is actually built to-scale, being that Pikachu is 16 inches tall in canon.

Pokemonfan art has been rampant across Reddit recently. On top of the various LEGO builds, anotherPokemonfan’s video has gone viral on the site as well, although in a different medium. An artist going by the handle fatcapsprays made headlines for theirincredible spray paint portrait of Zapdos, garnering nearly 16 thousand upvotes. The artist uses a technique to give the Legendary Pokemon a neon sign-like appearance. Despite the initialPokemoncraze happening a quarter-century ago, the franchise and fandom are as popular and strong as ever.

Fans interested in creating a LEGO Pikachu of their own can get the schematics from the aforementioned website. Now if only there were instructions on how to builda real-life Pikachu car, because that would certainly be something.
