What Are Mythic Weapons, & How Can You Get Them?

InOverwatch 2, Mythic Weapons are a special weapon variant that will appear in the Mythic Shop, much like the seasonal Mythic hero skins. This gives players an additional option when it comes to deciding how to spend their hard-earnedMythic Prisms. Not everyone is into buying Mythic hero skins for characters they will never play, and Mythic Prisms were only really serving this one purpose up until now.

Mythic Weapons can be paired with any skin of your choice for the same character and come equipped with unique sound effects, visual models, and animations. They will cost50 Mythic Prismsat the cheapest price, so players will be able to earn enough in their Premium Battle Pass to choose between fully unlockingthe hero Mythic skin, or the Mythic Weapon each season unless they opt to purchase additional Mythic Prisms with real currency.

The first character to receive a Mythic Weapon inOverwatch 2isthe beloved Tank hero,Reinhardt. Reinhardt will be receiving theBound Demonvariant of his hammer in the Season 11 midseason patch, which is set to go live onJuly 23, 2024.

In addition to this hammer having a very appealing visual design, it also offers unique visual effects, sound effects, and animations. This appears to be just the first of many future Mythic Weapons to be added in the future. The most likely scenario for this case is that further Mythic weapons will be released at the beginning of future seasons, alongside the new Mythic hero skins, or released within each season’s midseason patch, to keep things consistent with Season 11.
