Driven by his new position, Ainz deploys his subjects, made up of the NPCs that he and his former guild mates created in the real world, and infiltrates the governments of the people who inhabit the world. Unfortunately, as Ainz’s plans progress, he becomes more ruthless and cold, and before long, his evil deeds grow in number; the atrocities that Ainz has committed will turn the stomachs of many viewers without context, but evil is evil, and there is no excuse. Here are some of Ainz’s most evil moments in Overlord.
6Turning An Enemy Into A Death Knight
To display just how indifferent Ainz has become when it concerns how he feels about torturing mortals, in episode nine of season three, Ainz makes an example out of an intruder. The great Emperor of the Baharuth Empire traveled to theGreat Tomb of Nazarickto meet with the Sorcerer King in the hope of forming an alliance and measuring the scope of his power. As a gift, Emperor Jircniv provides the head of an intruder that infiltrated the Great Tomb of Nazarick as tribute.
Ainz removes the head from the basket it was presented in, and the gears in his head begin to turn. Then, in the blink of an eye, right in front of his guests, Ainz transforms the lifeless head into a full-grown Death Knight. The Emperor and his subjects are stunned both by the minuscule effort that Ainz put into the act on top of the cruelty of turning a former enemy into a mindless slave for eternity.

5Crushing Clementine
In Ainz’s early beginnings in the new world, he sought to first get to know the people he would live among and disguised himself as the adventurer “Momon,” the dark hero who quickly grew to fame for his accomplishments. In Season one, episode eight, Ainz comes face to face with an assassin who murdered someone important to him; Clementine was a member of the Zurrernorn who handed out death warrants to those the organization wanted dead.

She was a very arrogant and emotionless person who enjoyed toying with her victims. Thanks to her underestimating Ainz, she found herself trapped within his grip. Ainz revealed himself to be undead, striking fear and panic into Clementine, who struggled to get free. Slowly and methodically berating her, Ainz crushed Clementine to death and took his first step into darkness.
4Killing The Foresight Adventurers
In season three ofOverlord, Ainz has stepped up his game and began making strategic moves in order to elevate his position in the new world and test the limits of his powers. During a raid on what was thought to be the true base of Ainz Ooal Gown, a small group of adventurers who called themselves “Foresight” were lured into a gladiator pit by the Sorcerer King.
The party consisted of four fighters: a swordsman, an archer, a cleric, and a mage; neither of the would-be warriors would be prepared for what awaited them as Ainz challenged them to attack him all at once. Ainz toyed with the fighters, using the bare minimum to completely overwhelm them and crush their spirits. Every attempt to survive was met with an invincible wall that the adventurers could not hope to overcome.

3Allowing Shaltear To Kill Arche The Mage
In the same setting in season three, episode eight, after Ainz had dispatched the adventurers he trapped in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, the cleric of the party gives his life so the mage, Arche, can escape. Unfortunately, Arche is met with a crushing realization when she escapes into the air with fly magic; she believes herself to be outside of the Tomb, but she is met with an invisible wall of force that halts her movement.

Shaltearappears behind her and alerts her that all she sees is underground and that she is still trapped inside theGreat Tomb of Nazarick. Arche asks if there was ever any possibility of escape, to which Shaltear answers with a defining “no.” Arche loses everything but her spirit and lashes out at Shaltear, only to be stopped in her tracks and completely overpowered. Shaltear tells Arche that she is about to die but that Ainz has requested that it be pain-free. Ainz allows Shaltear to drain Arche dry, and she is never seen again.
2Slaughtering An Entire Army
One of the most gruesome and polarizing moments in all of Overlord comes afterAinz Ooal Gownhas revealed himself to the world and becomes enthralled in a war between the Baharuth Empire and the Re-Estize Kingdom. After a newly formed alliance is finalized, Ainz joins Jircniv’s army on the battlefield and makes his presence known in a gruesome and horrific way.

In a single movement, Ainz lays claim to the lives of seventy thousand soldiers witha powerful ability, using a massive death spell; the soldiers remaining on both sides barely have enough time to react as Ainz prepares yet another spell, this time using the bodies of the dead as a catalyst. The corpses come together and meld into multiple collosol beasts with black tentacles and gaping mouths that begin to inhale the remaining force. The Kingdom of Re-Estize is decimated, and Ainz gives off a chuckle having little empathy for the entire graveyards he just filled.
1Killing Gazef Stronoff
As the dust settled and the Dark Young that Ainz created had already decimated the Re-Estize kingdom’s army, Ainz was met on the battlefield by the strongest hero in the Kingdom, Gazef Stronoff.
Stronoff and Ainz had been acquainted for quite some time and respected each other greatly; unfortunately, the war placed them on opposite sides, and they would be forced to do battle. While Stronoff prepared himself to meet Ainz in a one-on-one fight equally, he was ill-prepared for just how outmatched in power he was. Climb and Brain stood witness as the fight began and ended in the blink of an eye. Ainz decided to make Stronoff’s death instant, painless, and respectful.
