When Dr Disrespect received his infamous Twitch ban, the livestreamer pivoted toYouTubeafter a short break so that his community of viewers would still have a place to watch him playgames likeCall of Duty: WarzoneandElden Ring. Speaking out of character recently, Dr Disrespect voiced some of his criticisms of YouTube after experiencing countless livestreams on the Google platform.
Addressing his audience as himself rather than as Dr Disrespect, Guy Beahm suggested that YouTube doesn’t support him “one bit” despite his move to the platform resulting in growth. Livestreaming onYouTubehas increased in recent years, and part of that may have something to do with popular Twitch streamers like TimtheTatman, Dr Lupo, and Ludwig making the switch from the purple to the red brand. Although many of these Twitch streamers have jumped over with some ideas on how to improve YouTube, like a system similar to Twitch bits or gifting memberships as if they’re subscriptions on the other platform, the website is often seen by their fans as slow to cater to the growing live viewership.

According to Dr Disrespect, the impact him and his community, known as the Champions Club, have had on YouTube streaming growth is “insane,” while he suggests that he’s being taken advantage of. “No follow, zero communication, absolutely no love,” continued the former Twitch streamer in his tweet as he implored YouTube to “show some respect.” Although they parted on questionable terms,Dr Disrespect and Twitchmay have had a better relationship before his ban, given that he didn’t make a tweet along the same lines as the August 13 one he made about YouTube.
Dr Disrespect isn’t shy about bringing up hiscriticisms of YouTube Gamingwhile livestreaming on his channel, but the two-time champion rarely speaks as Guy Beahm on Twitter to address his issues. Some of the other examples of Dr Disrespect breaking character like this include a couple of YouTube videos, an appearance at UFC 269, and a 2018 interview from the Oakland esports arena. It’s currently unclear what inspired Dr Disrespect to speak out about YouTube out of character, but it may have something to do with wanting to more effectively promote his upcoming game, known currently asDeadrop, or with how long he’s remained on the platform so far.
Many Dr Disrespect fans took to his statement about YouTube to show support for his livestream and wherever his future leads him, while others suggested that he create a new platform or join one of the others, like Facebook Streaming. Because he voiced these problems with YouTubeto his community, many Dr Disrespect fans have also assured the livestreamer that they will follow his stream regardless of where it ends up.
