One Pieceis swiftly moving towards its conclusion, and it was officially confirmed that the series is entering the “Final Saga.” After Kaido’s defeat, Oda has mainly focused on providing new details about some of the characters in the series. Oda also teased the readers with the possibility of showing them another Ancient Weapon, namely, Pluton.
Another huge revelation from the Wano Country arc was the information about the new Yonko. With Kaido and Big Mom gone, two new spots for the position of Yonko opened up. One of these spots was taken by Luffy, who was undoubtedly the MVP of the arc and the other spot was given to Buggy. This revelation shook the entireOne Piecefanbase, but above all, it directly affected two characters- Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law.

Why Were They Snubbed?
The inclusion of Buggy in the Yonko did raise a few eyebrows, but it does seem like a rational decision. Buggy has earned the reputation of being a very dangerous pirate by fooling all the people around him. In terms of strength, there are hundreds of characters, who can defeat Buggy in a fight, but Buggy makes up for the lack of power with his brains. Buggy’s involvement in the Summit War earned himthe title of a Shichibukai, which he used to start his own delivery service.
Buggy’s association with Shanks improved his reputation further. The people in Marineford were not aware of the fact that Buggy and Shanks were part of the same crew, which is why Buggy was able to raise talk to Shanks openly without any fear. Incidents such as these fooled the others into thinking that Buggy was a hot-shot. Why Buggy was suddenly promoted to the position of Yonko is unknown, but it is plausible to assume that the World Government might have found out about Buggy’s connection to the Roger Pirates.

Are They Yonko Level Yet?
Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law arefrom the Worst Generation. They are the captains of their respective crews, and they played an important role in the alliance’s victory over the two Yonko. Trafalgar Law has been sailing with the Straw Hats ever since the Punk Hazard arc. He formed an alliance with Luffy with the purpose of taking down Doflamingo and then Kaido. Law possesses the Ope Ope no Mi, which is among the most overpowered devil fruits in the series, and it offers him plenty of options while fighting. Law was very impressive in his fights versus Vergo and Smoker, but he couldn’t do much against Doflamingo. In the Wano Country arc, Law managed to get the better of Hawkins, and he also saved the Scabbards from being killed by Kaido.
Eustass Kid has the potential to become one of the strongest characters in the series. He possesses the Jiki Jiki no Mi, a powerful devil fruit that allows him to control magnetic forces. He can attract and repel metallic objects, which can cause serious damage to his opponents. Kid can also form structures if there are enough metallic objects, and use them to fight others. Kid didn’t have a lot of screentime beforethe Wano Country arc,so it was difficult to know where he stood in terms of power. Some of his known feats before Wano included injuring a Sweet Commander and trying to fight Shanks, with the latter ending horribly for him as he lost his left arm. In the Wano Country arc, Kid could not do anything special on the rooftop.

Both the Worst Generation captains had their biggest moment when they fought Big Mom. Big Mom had the upper hand in the fight for a long time, but things quickly changed when Law and Kid decided to use their devil fruit awakenings. Theawakening of their devil fruitsweakened Big Mom to the point, where she had to use her own life force to overwhelm them. However, the young pirates weren’t willing to go down, and with the help of Law’s ridiculous powers, Big Mom was defeated. While it is an outstanding accomplishment, the fact that it took the two of them to take her down cannot be overlooked. So, it is clear that they still have a long way to go before they can fight a Yonko in a 1v1 like Luffy.
The Future
The two young captains still have a lot to offer, and they will undoubtedly play key roles in the final saga, but there is a very slim chance that they will end up becoming a part of the Yonko. If they split up, it is possible that one of them could end up going after Buggy and claim the position from him, but with thecreation of the Cross Guild,it looks difficult to take him down.
They clearly won’t take down Luffy, which leaves Shanks and Blackbeard, and suffice to say, Law and Kid won’t be taking their places either. Furthermore, Luffy is very close to his goal of becoming the Pirate King as he got his hands on another Road Poneglyph. So, it is very likely that Kid and Law will not join Luffy as the Yonko, so their best option would be to go after the Road Poneglyphs and beat Luffy to Laugh Tale.
