Summary

Dr. Vegapunk is without a doubt the smartest person in theOne Pieceworld. Before his talent was recognized by the World Government,Vegapunk was working for MADS, an illegal scientific group. He wasn’t the only brilliant mind employed by Du Feld. Vinsmoke Judge, Queen, Caesar, and Miss Buckingham Stussy were the other members of MADS. While all of them were skilled, none of them came close to Vegapunk’s level. The genius was leagues above the rest, which forced the World Government to take action and recruit him.

Vegapunk was against the methods of the organization, but he couldn’t turn down the opportunity, as they would give him an astounding amount of money and resources for his projects. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to create new projects for his employers. Vegapunk’s inventions have greatly helped the World Government and its sister organizations. He found a way for the Marines to traverse through Sea King-infested waters by coating the bottom of the ships with Seastone. Other than that, Vegapunk also created the Pacifista, who were modeled after Bartholomew Kuma. These cyborgs were invented to help the Marines and other groups deal with criminals. When they were deployed in Marineford, they caused an unbelievable amount of destruction. After the timeskip, it was revealed that Vegapunk was working on a different project to fill the void created by the abolition of the Shichibukai, but all the information was kept under wraps. Thankfully, Oda decided to disclose it in the final saga ofOne Piece.

The Strongest Form Of Humanity

The Seraphim were revealed during the three-way battle between the Kuja Pirates, the Marines, and the Blackbeard Pirates. The Marines deployed S-Hawk and S-Snake on Amazon Lily, and they nearly destroyed the entire island. There are atotal of seven Seraphim, but only the names of four have been disclosed. These are S-Snake, S-Hawk, S-Shark, and S-Bear. The remaining three are based on Doflamingo, Crocodile, and Moria. It is clear that Vegapunk was trying to recreate a much better version of the Shichibukai. Unlike the real pirates that they are based on, the Seraphim are obedient and will follow orders. They take orders from the people within the Command Hierarchy or if they have an authority chip, making them much more reliable than pirates.

Vegapunk put a great deal of effort into their creation, and it is reflected in their power and intelligence. The Seraphim have Lunarian traits, which are because of King’s Lineage Factor. Due to this reason, the Seraphim are extremely resilient and capable of withstanding many attacks. Their physical strength is also impressive, and they can use it to wreak havoc. A slash from S-Hawk’s sword was potent enough to slice off a chunk of the mountain in Amazon Lily. Normally, a person would have stopped after giving their creations such immense power, but Vegapunk is different.

Vegapunk also created Green Blood to givethe Seraphim Devil Fruit powers, which complemented their way of fighting. S-Hawk, a swordsman, was given the Supa Supa no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to transform his limbs into blades. On top of the Devil Fruits, the Seraphim have also been fitted with Kizaru’s lasers, which they can use to demolish their target. As Vegapunk used the Lineage Factor of the former Shichibukai, the Seraphim are able to use their fighting style. They do not have the same level of mastery, but they have a lot of room to grow as they are still kids. Keeping in mind all their abilities, it is not surprising why Vegapunk called them the “Strongest Form of Humanity.”

Battle On Egghead

Out of the seven, four Seraphim are currentlypresent on Egghead Island.Originally, they sided with Vegapunk, but things changed after York’s betrayal. She ordered them to demolish almost everyone on the island. Due to their unreal physical abilities, it was almost impossible for the Straw Hats and CP0 to defeat the Seraphim.

Luffy and Lucci used their Devil Fruit Awakenings to attack one of the Seraphim, but he was still able to move around and fight. Many other characters succumbed to the power of the Seraphim, and the number of casualties would have continued to rise if Atlas and Robin hadn’t shifted their attention to the old abandoned laboratory. With York out of the way, the other satellites could finally control the Seraphim.

Many fans thought that Vegapunk would use the Seraphim against the massive fleet of Marine ships. However, the scientist decided to imprison the Seraphim, as there was a risk of them going haywire. They used bubble balls to imprison the Seraphim. They are extremely durable, as they are infused with the energy of the sea. It doesn’t make sense for Vegapunk to leave the Seraphim on the Egghead, as St. Jaygarcia Saturn would easily bring themon the side of the World Government. So, the Seraphim have to be moved from the island. There is a chance that the Straw Hats will take the Seraphim with them. This would be the ideal scenario, and it would help the Straw Hats and Vegapunk in their future endeavors.
