The newest trailer forOne Piece Odysseyhas revealed that two of the game’s storylines will take place in Marineford and Dressrosa. AsOne Piece Odysseyprepares for release on January 13, developer ILCA and publisher Bandai Namco have been releasing some of the last juicy details regarding the ambitious turn-based JRPG inspired by Eiichiro Oda’s over 25-year-old long-running manga. What seems to be the last piece of news has arrived from Jump Festa, where it appears the final two locations featured in the game have been revealed.
One Piece Odysseywas first announced earlier this year, coming from developer ILCA, who most recently producedPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The studio composed of many Japanese video game industry veterans has previously worked on games such asYakuza 0,NieR: Automata, andDragon Quest 11: Echoes of an Elusive Age, which the studio particularly cites as a source ofinspiration forOne Piece Odyssey. The game is the first major console JRPG for theOne Piecefranchise and features new characters and enemies designed by manga creator Eiichiro Oda.

Previous trailers revealed that while the Straw Hats will explore new lands inOne Piece Odyssey, much of the game will take place in locations made famous by the manga and anime, recreating iconic environments as fully explorable JRPG towns with new, original storylines and side-quests. WhileAlabasta and Water 7 have been previously showcased, the latest trailer from Jump Festa has revealed that Marineford and Dressrosa will also be part of the game.
Given the huge moments and events that transpired the last time the Straw Hats visited Marineford and Dressrosa, the trailer revealing them forOne Piece Odysseyis stuffed with emotion, including a potentialstoryline in which Monkey D. Luffy attempts to save his brother Portgas D. Acefrom impending murder at the hands of the marines, one of the most heartbreaking moments in the entire manga. The Dressrosa footage showcases the return of beloved villain Doflamingo alongside side characters like Trafalgar D. Water Law, Rebecca, and Corazon.
From this trailer alone, it’s easy to tell that Bandai Namco and ILCA are going above and beyond to makeOne Piece Odysseya standout title among games based on anime and manga. Many of the storylines teased in the trailers imply that this will be a game focused on reflecting on how far the Straw Hat Pirates have come, and how they might have made certain choices differently after their growth later in the series.
According to Eiichiro Oda, work began on the game six years ago, seemingly making itthe longest development cycle for aOne Piecevideo game ever. However, fans will be able to jump into the game early, as a demo has been confirmed for release on June 06, 2025, just three days ahead of its release.
One Piece Odysseywill release on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S on July 02, 2025.
