There’s only a month to go until the release ofSerious Sam 4and footage of the new game is finally revealing what to expect when the classic returns. The game will initially release on PC and Google Stadia with console versions to come later in 2021, but a new gameplay trailer has revealed what players can expect when the game comes to Stadia in August.
TheSerious Samfranchise can only be described as insanely fun. Despite the game’s title, it doesn’t take itself too seriously and the narrative is basically one man against an army of extraterrestrial monsters that are invading Earth. The game is well known for its arcade-style with huge waves of enemies that the player must fight off with an epic arsenal of weapons. After multiple remasters and reboots,Serious Sam 4will be a new prequelcoming to this generation of consoles and hardware.

The originalSerious Samgames recently made their way to Stadia, meaning players can catch up on the back catalog before diving into this new installment. Croteam has released a new gameplay trailer showing whatSerious Sam 4will look like when it hits Stadia at launch, and it is quite an upgrade from the originals.
The gameplay trailer itself doesn’t reveal much in terms ofSerious Sam 4’sstory, but it definitely looks to be more of the same classic game with plenty of old favorite monsters and weapons on display. The trailer also teases the new legion feature the game will be using, which allows hundreds of thousands of enemies to render on-screen simultaneously.
Serious Sam 4istaking advantage of Stadia’s 4K renderingand high frame rate as effects such as blood splatter, snow, and smoke appear crystal clear. The vibrant backgrounds come to life and look stunning on the platform with an erupting volcano landscape, in particular, standing out. Although there are plenty of nice new gameplay areas to explore it seems the horde battles will still do plenty of damage as players take them out with spectacular explosion effects.
Another great feature of the game is that players will be able to join their friends in 4 player co-op. Battling throughSerious Sam 4’sarcade style levelswill be enhanced by the co-op feature, particularly when the game delivers on its promise of thousands of enemies at once.
