Summary
A newFortniteGlider called Shadow’s Bite has garnered some attention from fans who believe their characters should be able to ride the motorcycle. Countless Gliders have been added toFortnitesince its release, but this one may have missed a key opportunity.
During some downtime, theFortniteChapter 5 Season 2 update was dropped and since then, players have been exploring the new Battle Pass and island changes. The Battle Pass is Greek mythology-themed, and it includes characters like Hades, Poseidon, and Cerberus. With each skin having aLEGO Fortnitecounterpart, gamers can equip their favorite seasonal skins inthe LEGO crossover modes. While Epic Games offers players the opportunity to pay for Battle Pass progression, many players are unlocking things through completing challenges and earning experience in Battle Royale. However, with more players finishing the first few tracks of levels, some have started to point out a missed opportunity with one of the Gliders.

Reddit users Wokenaizen and ZZeus3 are among the vocalFortnitefans expressing disappointment in Cerberus' Shadow’s Bite Glider. The Glider is an impressive black and gold motorcycle that glows blue and features the Cerberus icon at the front, with players that reach level 8 in the Battle Pass able to upgrade the Cerberus Glider so that it becomes the Immortal Shadow’s Bite. Those that are disappointed about this item take issue with how their character holds onto two bars near the rear wheel to glide down fromtheFortniteBattle Bus, rather than allowing them to sit on the bike. Given that the motorcycle features a seat like most similar vehicles, it may have only required the developer to animate a sitting position for the starting moments of the game.
How Does Shadow’s Bite Compare to Other Gliders?
While Shadow’s Bite isn’t the first motorcycle in the game, the Chapter 5 Season 2 update may have been a great opportunity to make this Glider type more unique. Beyond the Cerberus motorcycle, the Marvel Ghost Rider skinwas accompanied by his flaming chopper. Allowing the players to ride the motorcycle would add another aesthetic possibility to the item type, making it more distinct like the Cube Queen’s infinite staircase Glider. There are also Gliders like Bombs Away, the Balvin Cruiser, and Goblin Glider that allow players to stand on them like a snowboard. With these other options, some players question why motorcycle Gliders limit players to holding onto them like the base Glider or riding them like the snowboards.
Though theFortniteChapter 5 Season 2Glider would require some animation changes, it seems like several players would have appreciated the extra touch. As it stands, a Glider that would otherwise be considered impressive feels lackluster to a portion of the community.
