A great soundtrack in sports games is often a nice selling point, withNBA 2KandTony Hawk Pro Skaterprobably being the two ongoing series that utilize it so profoundly. Whether it be the music that is already announced, or the songs and artists that haven’t been yet revealed, the soundtrack forNBA 2K21is something many are excited about.
NBA 2K21 Soundtrack - Confirmed Artists
The officialNBA 2KTwitter page has been busy lately, both announcing and teasing. In a recent tweet in which the page was interacting with fans, the question was raised as to which artists fans would like to see in the game. Only a little after the question was posted, theNBA 2KTwitter page answered its own question with a link to a TikTok video.
The short and sweet video presented five artists that will be in the game. Those artists will be Polo G, Roddy Richh, Stormzy, Tory Lanez, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again. In the video, the song “Don’t I” from Tarik is being played, but it’s worth mentioning Tarik isn’t on the list of currently confirmed artists. It would be strange for it not to be.

The list of artists is a young and fresh group, with most of the artists being 21 or under, and the oldest is Tory Lanez at 27. It looks likeNBA 2K21is continuing to shoot for a young and excited fanbase, and featuring great upcoming rappers is a good way to do so. The group is also international, with American, British, and Canadian artists. While in NBA matches, the soundtrack of the game isn’t usually quite as profound, but in menus, My Career, and thenew updated Neighborhood, the music is super important and adds to the value of the game.
What Songs and Other Artists May be in NBA 2K21
As far as what songs could be on the way from the confirmed artists, there are quite a few options to choose from. Polo G has had a few massive hits, including “Through Da Storm,” “Pop Out,” and “Heartless.” Other strong possibilities would be “Lil Top” by YoungBoy Never Broke Again, “NLE” from Roddy Richh, “Do Better” by Stormzy, and “Luv, Say It,” and “LA Confidential” from Tory Lanez.
As fans have predicted therelease date forNBA 2k21, many are also wondering which other artists could be on the way. Some of the top guesses include Westside Gunn, Freddie Gibbs, Denzel, Curry, Mick Jenkins, and YG.
Especially because of the announcement of Damian Lillard as the cover star, many think that it would be awesome to add the NBA all-world point guard and cover athlete of the game itself as one of the artists. Lillard has long shown off his bars and is much better than the average athlete who drops a mixtape. While it is possible that Lillard is only the cover athlete of the current console version, withKobe Bryant as the cover athlete of one Legendary Editionand someone else as the next-gen cover athlete (Zion Williamson comes to mind), having Damian in the game as a player, on the cover as the athlete, and in the soundtrack as a rapper, would be a trifecta that is hard to top.
